Default young teen girls charged with child porn of themselves

http://www.wpxi.com/news/18469160/detail.html#-

Interesting ramifications. The 14 and 15 year old girls sent nude pictures of them selves by cell phone to a 16 and 17 year old boy.

Police said the girls are being charged with manufacturing, disseminating or possessing child pornography while the boys face charges of possession.

they are teenagers... they would not have been arrested for if the girls would have just got naked in front of the boys.. now they will have this stuff on their records, and it will follow them for the rest of their lives...

If a 30 year old has naked pics of 14 & 15 year olds on his phone that is one thing... but the classmates who they are probably boyfriend and girlfriend with?

I hope they beat the case.

The bigger sex crime here, may be that of any police, detective or lawyer that must see the pictures. I certainly would insist on seeing the evidence.

What justification is there for any adult to view these pics, as it would be a greater "crime" than any committed so far by a few naked kids looking at a few other naked kids

Looks like here we need to define pornography a bit better

Yeah, some pretty amazing logic here. Looking at pictures of 14/15yo girls is wrong so let's pass them around among school officials, the police station, and then the courts. Then you have child pornography charges based largely to protect underage people from being exploited but now we are going to further exploit them and press charges against them for exploiting themselves.

I think a good lawyer should go after whoever seized the phones and thought it was OK to go through the pictures. They are the real criminals for invasion of privicy and underage porn

'Police said school officials learned of the photos in October. That's when a student was seen using a cell phone during school hours, which violates school rules. The phone was seized, and the photos were found on it, police said. When police investigated, other phones with more pictures were seized.'

who at the school took it upon themselves to search thru the phone? just because they are students doesn't mean they don't have civil rights, which quite possibly were violated. illegal search and seizure to begin with, also privacy laws.
should be interesting to see how this turns out.

Teen girls will get naked no matter what you do. It's a waste of money to fight something like that.

This is the law going wayyy to far. Let them enjoy being young. It's not like they were selling them on the internet or sending them to gpk. Let the parents deal with this.

This is ridiculous, even if someone was using a phone when they were not supposed to, why was a school official going through the phone? That person should be charged with child pornography.

As far as search and seizure, the rules only apply to "government officials." If the teachers work for public schools, then the search and seizure laws probably apply, however, if it is a private school, they would not. I know in NY this probably would not be charged and I certainly know of some judges that would toss these charges out in a heartbeat due to the closeness in age. From what I am reading here, it is not the police that searched and seized, but the school that did.

Why are the boys being charged with possession? Nothing that I read states that they showed the pictures to anyone or even told anyone they had them, they are criminals because someone electronically sent them a photograph? Please!

Not even the threat of jail time is going to be enough to cause any 17yo boy to delete a naked picture of a hot classmate.

i know it....
my older son had a girl he was dating. she sent a pic of herself(top only, thankfully had on a bra) to his yahoo email address. problem was, it was MY computer.
he got in a ton of trouble-like i told him, what if someone saw that pic, and my husband ended up with a ton of grief because of this dipshit girl...
kids.

This is what I meant by the possible ramifications of this case. I'd hate to be liable for what anyone and everyone might float my way.

Can porn companies flood people's cell phones with pornographic images?

I don't have a cell phone camera so I don't know how they work, or if you get unsolicited advertising.

Everyone will eventually be flooded with porngraphic images in our society, from about 10 years old and up. Eventually we'll become habituated to it and we'll be able to do away with these archaic porn laws
