Default ? Maybe Drugs

There was a football game. Preceding Madden 1985. I pick a disc, then a play. Defense adjusts and we push mini disk in and hear play. What game was that?

I believe it was called Talking Football. If I recall correctly, it was Dick Enberg's voice calling the plays. Pretty sure my version is still in my parents basement. My Dad throws nothing out.

The draw was money against the blitz....

super call bigs. it almost sounds like they used the logic in this for the first few nintendo football games, like Tecmo Bowl. if your dad still has it it sounds like a collector's item and worth some $$$.

I have Talking Football and Talking Baseball at home... They were great. DrugS is too young to remember Talking Football o Talking Baseball.

Hell... I still have an "Electric Football" game at home where you would spend 10 minutes setting up the players in formations and turn on the electricity. Then they would all spin around and do nothing, eventually congregating in one corner of the game table in a group hug...

F*ck yeah... my buddy and I used to play foosball at his house for hours and then head over to this bar which had that game and pump that thing full of quarters. He owned me in foosball, I owned him in bubble hockey.

Was actually thinking about buying a table, they're expensive though. $3k for the coinop version, $1500 for the non-coinop home version.

Probably time to grab some of the potential collector's items and bring them home with me where they belong.

Seems to me, last time I fired it up the Talking Football (about 15-20 years ago) Enberg's voice was deep and dragging. Fresh batteries didn't help.

Nice pull on that article Phil. Christmas 1972, I was soon to be 9 and this game was right in my wheelhouse.
I don't think it's that strange to be honest. My parents still have a bunch of the board games from like 1983 when we moved into their current house. I never had a bedroom but if I did I'd imagine it would look the same even though i haven't lived there in 12 years.
