Default south florida DT vacation timeline

friday 1/30 8:00am get to airport. crammed into spirit airlines bus-style planes with 150 hasid's from brooklyn (but the flight was $100 roundtrip plus tax, you gets what you pay for)
11:30am land safely in ft lauderdale. weather = cool and windy but not bad
1:30pm pick up rental car, arrive at gulfstream for 2nd race- no sign of sniper, cajun, and antitrust
2:30pm still no sign. get text, antitrust getting dolled up
4:00pm wolfson filly wins stake for fun, single of gemswick park in pick 4 goes down in flames
5:00pm our other potential singles win, kick in teeth
5:15pm only pays $108 for a buck so we feel much better after favorite narrowly wins finale over wiseguy selection
5:30pm go to at the races studio at perrotta's office, we meet KC and perrotta's dog
5:55pm Joe ("Gus") the Dude calls in & asks for a dance, phil oblidges but he says only the ladies
6:15pm dinner at quarterdeck, excellent seafood for cheap allows for extra booze with meal
8:00pm discussion of strip clubs at dinner turns into reality, crew arrives at Pure Platinum
10:00pm things already getting spicy
11:00pm insanity has ensued
11:45pm phil escapes with life to pick up Swap Fliparoo at airport
12:30am arrive at hotel, sniper picks a $$$ hotel for a good price
2:30am wake up to sniper, antitrust, and gator getting home- one semi-sober (gator) and two bombed talking about spending $250 at the strip club

saturday, 1/31
10:00am wake up to definitive smell of booze
1:00pm arrive at gulfstream. fun card and lots of people
2:00pm chilly air, so the $1 bud selects start flowing to stay warm
4:00pm sniper and phil run 2nd in pick 4 by a length or less with 30-1, 20-1, and 35-1 to horses we didnt have
6:00pm Ghostzappers at gulfstream prove too expensive, but sniper and antitrust stick around for $1 buds.
7:00pm old people (phil, swappy, gator) already tired, we head back to hotel. walk to romano's macaroni grill, drink wine and eat hearty. no sign of sniper and antitrust.
10:00pm still no sign of them, but anti says she needs to wait before driving.
2:00am sniper and antitrust get back safely, this time sampling the wares at Solid Gold next to Pure Platinum. sniper apparently gets booted from 'regular' club for dress code prohibiting shorts

Sunday, 2/1
10:30am everyone wakes up looking pretty haggard. trip to IHOP!
11:30am IHOP line is forever. wait 45 minutes for a table. paid $2 for a bottled water at mcdonalds next door to stave off dehydration.
12:30pm everyone looks satisfied except sniper, who looks like the previous night's activities may return to say hi
1:00pm gator and antitrust head out back to north florida
2:00pm off to gulfstream. sniper has box seats for us courtesy of Mr. Byk
4:00pm boxes at gulfstream kick ass. beautiful view and very comfy miami vice-style chairs
4:30pm sniper and phil use 6 of 8 in the suwannee river, the two not used run 1-2. singles in next two legs win easily at $5.80 and $7.00 (ridiculous price on kip deville)
5:00pm sniper has $3 left on voucher and punches an 8-1 cold exacta, hits and pays $125 for $2
5:30pm phil broke, has to borrow $20 from sniper to bet (& lose) the last race of the day
6:00pm super bowl! we have nothing wagered except prop bet challenge, swap fliparoo wins challenge
9:00pm fun game. didnt care who won, just wanted good entertainment and got it. bartenders at gulfstream oddly ignoring us.
11:00pm back to hotel. hotel bar closes early. attempts to rerally back out to local bar fall short.

Monday, 2/2
9:00am up and at 'em
11:00am drop sniper off at airport
12:00pm phil and holly drive to isle casino and seminole hard rock. sign up for new player cards, get $90 in free play slot credits. get back $85 in cash and don't put single dime of own money in machines
2:00pm drive to key largo. set up at state park beach which is 'manmade' but feels like concrete rather than sand. beautiful spot though
6:00pm get back to ft lauderdale. priceline hotel for $35 (is nowhere near the quality of sheraton suites but is acceptable)
7:00pm holly takes phil out for birthday dinner at ruths chris. food incredible and very filling. never want to eat ever again.

Tuesday, 2/3
11:00am go to panera for breakfast. traffic at stores is bad. does anyone in south FL work?
1:00pm back to gulfstream for free player cards. only get $21 cash for our $50 slot credits. damned tight machines.
2:00pm lunch at on the border with $21
4:00pm drop off holly at airport. phil's flight looking delayed. tries to get on standby earlier flight but booked.
5:00pm go catch a few games of jai-alai at dania.
7:00pm back to airport. long delay. flight finally leaves gate at 10:00pm
1:30am arrive back in new york to screaming baby in seat behind me. thank god for noise cancelling headphones.
3:00am finally in bed. all sleep earned on trip given back

Weds, 2/4
7:00am back to work!

Let's not understate it Phil. $250 was just the bar tab.

add another $250 at least and we are more in the ballpark.

Thanks to JP for getting us a box for friday also..

and thanks to the seagull who put his ass in my french fries. And then when I ask for new one's the lady was like "well its not something we did" OH REALLY?? I had thought you had hired the seagull to attack my fries!!!!!

I did get new fries though incase anyone was wondering. Which was smart of them considering I know their manager very well.

I think the real question is, who's running it back for Florida Derby weekend?

Where the hell were you last weekend?

P.S

Fun times, guys ... I managed to pick up a nasty cold (I'll blame it on the strippers at Pure Platinum.) LOL

Wonder if it was it the same gull who crapped on your shoulder two years ago?
