Default Is Joe Bravo retarded?

Just wondering, after watching his performance on Astrologie.

What did you want him to do better in a PACELESS race, where the chalk has every advantage?

I think we need to repose the question and substitute 'Clement' for 'Bravo'.

How many turf fillies does Clement have in the barn that needed a workout today (or tomorrow or yesterday)? Think he might've entered one of them and given it a nice speed drill for 4 or 6F? By doing so he also ensures an honest pace and that his horse won't be at a huge disadvantage and have to be abused.

I'm sure the connections of Criticism appreciated it, however.

Bravo is clearly challenged, I agree, but, under the circumstances, he did all he could.

I'm hoping you are being facetious, but I don't think you are.

Therefore.

Let the frickin thing run! You think letting her go 51.3 instead of 53 would drain her more than fighting with her and getting her in tight and taking up every furlong or so would?

You clearly buy into the Eric Donovan method of trip handicapping: The trivial steadying while drafting is not relevant.

He DID let her run and he was INSIDE, for practically the entire race. When they turned for home SHE WAS EMPTY. She didn't steady on final turn, btw, though the racecaller wanted to think she did, and just couldn't keep up.

Once she broke slow, she was cooked. Just even that didn't really matter: Criticism just has more speed than she does and thus was going to control the race. The fault lies with Clement and the other trainers. Guess they don't mind having others collect easy money.

The idea is not to follow them and throw away money in these types of races.
