Default Did something happen to Calvin Borel today?

Just turned on the computer and saw Borel is last-minute off his last two mounts at Churchill today - did something happen?

I don't know, but Coa is going to be sore tomorrow. Has anyone ever seen someone win a race after losing their irons. I'm not sure, but I think I saw Cordero do it once, or at least come real close.

I remember that race at Saratoga. Mid 80s? Cordero had his legs forward and was sitting straight up the whole trip. Almost pulled it off. Think he finished third.

Fernando Jara lost one of his irons coming out of the gate on Jazil in the Belmont, they went on to win.

I did see this in a Euro race and I cant find it.
So strangely enough I looked up Horse racing oddities
on U-Tube and guess what is second on the list:

Calvin B. and Chuck S. should remember this one well...

Borel was dehydrated after riding the first 8. He took off the two mounts, got an IV and was feeling better this morning. Worked three horses including Mine That Bird, left for the airport and just landed in New York an hour ago...

Someone at the beginning of the post referenced Fernando Jara......When he won the Belmont on Jazil he was being hailed as one of the next big time jockeys. What happened to him? Where is he riding?

Thanks. Geesh, being a professional anorexic, glad it's not me.

don't know what the temperature was there yesterday but it must have turned pretty humid - was listening to the track feed and heard them mention Holiday Tap, the winner of the 5th a maiden turf route, got overheated and almost collapsed before getting hosed down - apparently she was going to be fine, but couldn't make it to the winner's circle....
