![]() I'll have to do some research to find the names, but there have been some terrific African-American jockeys, especially in the early 20th century.
There have been some great Irish-American ones too, and also some Italian-American ones. Currently, the Hispanic-American jockeys are dominant. It's really not an "ethnic thing" when it comes to riding a horse. Just the best riders find the finish line. Horses don't see colors...and neither should we. btw, the guy that has an issue with NASCAR has been treated unfairly. Maybe he should have run a few cars filled with "white lightning" on the back hill roads. |
