Dominguez is probably a cinch.
Back-to-back top 5 finishes in his only two years riding this meet full time - and both times - he came into the meet from Delaware instead of riding Belmont.. which put him at a tremendous disadvantage. Not only is he coming in from riding Belmont this time - but he dominated the standings there. He came up 12 wins short last year .. and that only amounts to an extra win every 3 racing days. There is no way this year shouldn't be light years better for him. |

I think Leparoux could surprise this meet. Esp if he can pick up some mounts on the Assmu babies since SB is hurt. |

Prado is riding 4 of the 5 Asmussen horses on opening day ... he seems to have landed that barn with SB injured.

There aren't enough two turn dirt routes or Graded Stakes for Borel at Saratoga.
2007 was the only other year he rode full time at Saratoga in his career - and he went 6-for-14 with a $4.32 ROI in dirt routes. Problem was that he was 3-for-86 in all other races at that meet. He's 16-5-3-2 with a $4.48 ROI in all Graded Stakes at Saratoga over the last 4 years. Including a 2nd beaten less than a length with Social Probation at 24/1 odds. |

What clinches the riding title may be who gets to ride all of Eddie Kenneally's 2yos.

I hate the way Prado is riding right now, I'm not sure what is wrong with him but from what I have observed he is not the same rider he was a few yrs ago.

COA!
15/1 ?! Eibar is the man. He always seems to win for me. He's "my boy" and he's who I've got my money on. |

Leparoux didn't manage to win 20 races at Saratoga last year - or the year before that - and he didn't ride a single winner at Belmont this year ... so it's going to be hard for him to get live with NY horses.
With other Kentucky riders like Alberado, Borel, Mena, Castanon, and possibly Theriot at Saratoga this year .. and with Prado seemingly picking up Asmussen .. it's not like he will have every good mount from Kentucky barns either. No Biancone babies either I don't think. I realize he crushed most of these riders and won this years Keeneland meet by double digits .. but the NY riders have the same disadvantages at KEE that he will coming to NY. He only beat Borel by a single win at CD and trailed him on win percentage. |

I'll take a Maragh, Johnny V box please. Coa used to be my go to guy on the lawn but throughout the Belmont meet I seemed to get tough rides from him. I'll take Garcia and Lezcano splitting horses in those turf sprints, saving ground.
That said, I just guaranteed Coa to bring home 6 $20 turf winners openiong weekend.
