Default Saratoga 2YO Stars?

I must admit I didn't pay as close attention this year, but can't remember the sizzling 2YO races that set the tone for the high level 3YO's. Usually there are several races with big winners by open lengths.

Who did I miss?

That Baffert horse - Bulldogger or whatever - won pretty convincingly on Travers day. . . 6.5 lengths with a 90 Beyer.

There's a Twitter page that seems to be tracking 2yos everywhere and has tweets about some of the Spa juveniles:

Two that are in the race today - Dublin and One Note Samba - were impressive in their MSW victories at the Spa.

Andy made a comment yesterday on Talkin' Horses about it being Saratoga and having good 2-year-old races... I'm not sure if this is related or not but it did jog my memory about the lack of breakthrough/standout 2-year-old performances. Usually there are a few per week that generate buzz.

Hot Dixie Chick has been about as good as almost anything you'll ever see for 2yo fillies this time of year.

If you're looking for a serious horse for next year ... I'd say without question that Maker Ghostzapper Stately Victor struck me as super impressive on both surfaces. His dirt debut was sneaky strong.

The Kenneally who runs back today in the Grade 1 was as green as can be and still got it done. Lukas is crazy over Dublin, he got a perfect trip but he also ran big, 90 beyer I think.

You caught a lot of grief about the Kennealy 2yos at Saratoga, but they did well. I counted two winners and at least one second.

The 3 ran really well, did not get clear till very late in the race. With a clean trip I think he wins easily.
Good call with the EK.

Gales was right about Kenneally, he had a positive ROI with the babies. He had an ROI of $2.99, congrats.

That being said, that was a rag-tag bunch in the Hopeful that would have looked ugly had Hot Dixie Chick been entered against them.

As mentioned already I really liked Interactif's debut turf win in the WA stakes, it will be interesting to track his progress in the future but it looks like he could be a serious turf horse.
