Stat of the week
JaMarcus Russell attempted 13 passes yesterday. His team lost 44-7 and was down 31-7 at halftime. Yet his coach has so little faith that he only called 19 passing plays for him (6 sacks) the entire game. Has a team in the modern era ever been beaten so badly with fewer passing attempts?
They had 7 first downs (3 passing,3 rushing and 1 penalty) They were 1 for 11 on third down They had 124 net yards (60 rushing, 64 passing-hey at least there was some balance!) But Shane Lechler looks like a pro bowl lock at punter! |

However as pitiful as Russell is Derek Anderson outbaded him this week. 2 for 17! 2!!!
23 yards 1 int so he completed three passes, two to his team, one to the other. A QB rating of 15.1 which has to be the worst ever for a QB that played the entire game in a non-weather situation. Buffalo had 13 penalties. They should show this game tape over and over at Gitmo. Makes waterboarding sound like fun |

Chris Redman, Rex Grossman, Joey Harrington, Eli Manning, Jeff Garcia, Tim Hasselbeck, Randy Fasani, Anthony Wright, and Scott Mitchell. Some others that have done it: Ryan Leaf, Trent Dilfer, Warren Moon (twice), Terry Bradshaw (three times), Joe Namath (twice), Dan Fouts, Johnny Unitas, Bob Griese, and Otto Graham. Interesting fact is finding out that Eli and Archie Manning both did it.

Anderson and Russel are passing studs.
If I coached the Raiders - McFadden would run the wildcat the entire game and Russell would be lined up at wideout - give him maybe 3 or 4 throws a game on reverses. He'd be brutal for a corner to try and cover one on one because of his size. Anyone remember seeing McFadden run the wild hog at Arkansas? The guy was a machine - and could pass out of it like Ronnie Brown. |

Russell would have fit in great with Les Miles' passing gameplan on Saturday night.
