Some of you have met the Angelika interviewed in the article- she's my riding buddy and we usually go to Belmont together. She's a really, really good human being. I have all my fingers and toes crossed she and her fiancé can make this thing they're trying to do work.

She is obviously aptly named.
I wish all of these people all of the luck in the world. It is a wonderful thing they are doing.

Ernie deserves a second chance like this guy. Gems

"In 1982, David Jacobson, the son of longtime leading New York trainer Buddy Jacobson, was forced to surrender his trainer's license to the state after he was charged with "failing to provide adequate food and medical attention" to the horse Hugable Tom, who was euthanized on Sept. 28, 1981."

A few snippets from these articles would be nice. I just discovered you now have to register and log-in with equibase for charts!

I'm sorry... This is patently unfair.

I'd suggest anyone look into the Hugable Tom story more thoroughly before condemning Davey Jacobson. There is a lot more to it. Grening is being shockingly cruel and cavalier with that inclusion. In fact, it's disgusting that he would simply drop that in without the benefit of full disclosure of the Hugable Tom saga. Everyone should be informed that Hugable Tom's owner Michael Ricatto is the individual responsible for urging Jacobson to get back into racing.

(In a nutshell, Jacobson was trying to save the injured Hugable Tom after a knee fracture. Vets told him to put the horse down, but Jacobson disagreed and tried to press on. Laminitis set in and Hugable Tom had to be euthanized. It was then that the state used the opportunity to chase Jacobson, whose legendary father Buddy had been involved in the wild and notorious Melanie Cain love triangle murder case, off the racetrack. It was hardly a case of animal abuse.)
