DT FOCUS (1/13-GP 7th/9th): 3yo Turf ALW (Boys) & MSW (Girls)
Anyone have a chance to look these over? Part of the P6 C/O of course, but as stand alones, two interesting groups... Thoughts?

The horse I'm interested in (7th) is Malibu Knight. Now I have NO idea how good he is, and you could certainly make the case he beat nothing in his debut, but he did it in a pretty amazing way, breaking dead last from the rail in the 5.5 F turf sprint, and closing from last at the top of the stretch to win convincingly. You just don't see that very often, especially from a first time starter. The odds should be worth the risk today.

Still very difficult to draw a conclusion on Malibu Knight after this race. Whether or not you want to blame Elvis, couldn't have had a worse trip, checked early in the first turn when the 12 came in on him, probably ended up 8 or 9 wide by the time they came out of the turn. Maybe he was green, maybe overmatched, or maybe he just stinks. I don't know yet.
