I hope he and his wife can work things out and somehow put all this behind them. |

![]() Golf Writers Vote to Boycott Tiger's Talk
By Mick Elliott Although more symbolic than purposeful, the Golf Writers Association of America is not willing to play along with Tiger Woods. After three months of hiding out as a sex scandal brewed around him, Woods will finally speak Friday morning. But because Woods (above, practicing yesterday in Windermere, Fla.) and his camp are totally orchestrating the appearance at TPC Sawgrass -- choosing who will be in attendance and refusing to take any questions -- the national organization of golf journalists announced its members will not attend. Woods' handlers had invited the GWAA to send three representatives, in addition to three wire service reporters, to the gathering to serve as pool reporters, who would share their notes and observations with colleagues. Because of those restrictions, the 950-member GWAA decided Thursday night to boycott Woods' statement unless it is opened to all accredited media. "I cannot stress how strongly our board felt that this should be open to all media and also for the opportunity to question Woods," said the organization's president, Vartan Kupelian. "The position, simply put, is all or none. This is a major story of international scope. To limit the ability of journalists to attend, listen, see and question Woods goes against the grain of everything we believe." The vote of the GWAA board of directors was 19-4 with three abstentions. According to rules set by the Woods camp, there will be only one television feed allowed and no other cameras allowed in the room. Mick Elliott is a Golf Writer for FanHouse

![]() He didn't just go out n' get 18 hos while being married. He apparently led most of these women on with lie after lie. If it was just one night stands with hookers (while being married,) then I think it's the business of him, his wife, and the hookers. The reason the man's world caved in is because he misled these women greatly, and they came back to get a piece of his ass. He seemed to enjoy having a pack of women thinking he was each of them's soul mate. While they shouldn't of done it, they didn't lie to him. He told them some very cruel deceiving lies that kept him "owning" them. He deceived many by telling them he was gunna be with them (in due time, be paradise.) There's some sort of control issues involved. It's not only sex. He's worked their heads over. They didn't come forward to complain he cheated on his wife. They did the same thing. If it was just that, then they would of protected him. I think he needed to work on his apparent addiction to misleading people with lies (in order to get a power high.) See, he was enjoying the power that came from these women being totally "his." The desire to have sex with many women may be normal, but the hi he got from misleading women is sick. Those women wanted the public to know that (that he's cruel.) That's why this got so public.

As far as his power high (as you call it), I just think he was always in damage control mode. Just telling these woman what they needed to hear so they wouldn't eventually blow the whistle on him. Because once the first domino fell, they were all going to fall. These woman all had a story and once they realized that the party was over, all they were looking for was to get paid. Either by Tiger or the tabloids. So I think Tiger was saying anything he could to keep this thing floating, but once he started taking on water he sunk quickly.

![]() Unless you're are in Tiger's head and know and understand his thought process, I don't know how anyone can decide and judge if he is an addict or not.

though the "sex" addict is a tough thing to grasp. You dont go through physical withdraws with sex, like you do with alcohol / cigarettes / drugS and those types of things. the "sex" addict thing is more of being weak in the mind. You make the decison whether to sleep with someone or not. Very unlike real, physical addictions. he's a selfish, arrogant guy who admitted he didnt feel the rules applied to him and all the girls wanted to hop on and he let them.

![]() My opinion only is that having affairs with dozen+ women at the same time is not normal behavior. That being said, I don't know what Tigers thought process was or any other particulars of what was going through his mind during this time frame. None of us do. Its not my place to judge if he is an addict or not.
I'm much more familiar with the disease of alcoholism than addiction, although like many people, my life has been affected in different ways by the disease of addiction. I wish Tiger nothing but the best in his chosen path of recovery. I do feel sorry for Elin. She will need more strength and patience than she could ever have imagined if she is to stick it out with Tiger and walk with him down this path. Last edited by GPK : 02-19-2010 at 06:06 PM. |
