Default First call to impeach Obama, depending on what he does...

KUHNER: Impeach the president?

Jeffrey T. Kuhner

The Democrats are assaulting the very pillars of our democracy. As the debate on Obamacare reaches the long, painful end, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is confronting a political nightmare. She may not have the 216 votes necessary to pass the Senate's health care bill in the House.

Hence, Mrs. Pelosi and her congressional Democratic allies are seriously considering using a procedural ruse to circumvent the traditional constitutional process. Led by Rep. Louise M. Slaughter, New York Democrat and chairman of the House Rules Committee, the new plan - called the "Slaughter Solution" - is not to pass the Senate version on an up-or-down vote. Rather, it is to have the House "deem" that the legislation was passed and then have members vote directly on a series of "sidecar" amendments to fix the things it does not like.

so one administration endorsed kidnapping, torture, and domestic spying.

while the other might sign a law passed using a house rule more often invoked by republicans than democrats in the past.

guess which one supposed small govenment conservatives think should be impeached?

conservatives are fun. everything is put in the most extreme language possible and no sense of proportion is tolerated.

i think we could actually see their heads explode in anger soon. wheee!

Too bad water boarding is not torture, despite Mr. Obama's opinion. Where was there kidnapping? That's a new one. If by domestic spying, you mean NSA listening in on terrorists calling operatives within this country, that's quite a stretch.

Where was the sense of proportion shown by Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, Al Gore "HE BETRAYED THIS COUNTRY! HE PLAYED ON OUR FEARS!!!"...remember any of that?

It's the liberals that are the buffoons. They're the ones who can't build anything, but always try to take over what someone else achieved. Want an example? Pick any of the major cities in this country run by Democrats. They're all dying. Detroit, Philly, New York -- hell...forget cities...how about the whole state of California.

Your worst nightmare is that the sleeping dragon has woken up to how empty and counterproductive to progress liberalism really is.

Ok, let's try putting a bag over your mellon and pouring water down your pie hole and will see what you think then! Anyone who doesn't think water boarding is torture is beyond an IDIOT! In terms of kidnapping, some would say snatching people up and tossing them in a freakin cell for years without evidence or justification could be called kidnapping! Wake up and smell what your shoveling!

Wow, that was the most educated and well-reasoned counter argument I've ever heard from a liberal.

I am half kidding.

wow. bin laden and crew flew planes into the WTC, Pentegon, and our great country gets to have people like you, who I guess get their panties in a bunch over the rights of terrorists. Why do you care so much about people who want to blow themselves up to kill you and any innocent non-muslim civilian? The only thing you should care about is stopping the terrorists so they dont have the chance to blow you up.

New York is dying? Really? I was up there a couple of weekends ago. Seemed pretty alive to me.

Please tell me what you mean when you say that New York City is "dying".

This should be interesting.

California is run by a Republican governor, and seeing as how I live in California, it's falling apart in almost every way.

Most notably, the university system in California has gone into shambles because of Arnold.

His insane policies of giving furlough days to state workers wasn't exactly bright either. I hate this governor and look forward to the day a Democrat leads this state again.

Yep. That's what you need--a democrat governor. You deserve no less. Californians have elected a strongly democratic controlled legislature for practically all of the past 40 years. No Republican governor will get much done in that atmosphere. The max marginal tax rate will rise to around 60% after ObamaCare takes full effect. Perhaps a democrat governor could get those rates even higher and run out what's left of the meager remnants of businesses that once thrived aplenty in The Golden State.

I use to live in California for a short time in the beautiful Newport Beach area, but could not wait to get out. It took a few years but I finally escaped. That's the beauty of state's rights. If a state has policies you don't agree with, you can move. That is not possible with federal programs like ObamaCare. States that tried gov run health care found the programs became insolvent over time. How anyone could believe it will work at the national level is beyond me. I guess some folks believe that if you pile bull$hit high enough and deep enough, it ain't bull$hit no more.

Hate to burst your bubble but every administration has endorsed kidnapping and torture. We have on occasion in our history knocked off the leaders of other countries as well. I would love to hear just one of the lefties say that while they back the bill or healthcare reform in general they are troubled by the tactics that are being used. Just one...

fair enough. you aren't posting ridiculous links suggesting it's an impeachable offense.

it would be better if there were an up and down vote. which there still might be.

but i can't honestly say i'll be "troubled" if there isn't. i don't want to burst your bubble but democrats didn't invent hardball.
