You mean Castellano? I seriously thought he would do it without Bright One, but now? No - let Kip burn himself out with his cheap speed. Bernardini will be stalking, ready to pounce.

Bernardini will laugh at Kip Deville - they don't even belong in the same breath. Kip will fold like a cheap suit at the least pressure.....besides, it's not like Bernardini can't run from off the pace. He can do whatever is asked of him. Kip is the least of his concerns.

You are right Betsy, Bernardini can do anything that is asked of him in the racing game. He has proved this time and time again in his extensive list of starts.

Shoot, I think they should just give everyone a 10 length head start and ask Bernardini to jump some fences every couple of furlongs. Then people would realize his greatness. I mean "he can do whatever is asked of him."

The speed hurts Bluegrass Cat more so than Bernardini. Bernardini doesnt need the lead, not did he want it in the Jim Dandy. He just inheirted the lead because the other horses sucked so bad. Bernardini will win by 5. I dont know why people are excited about this race. I mean we have a good field and I love that, but Bernardini handles this field with ease.

I agree, the post is great for Bernardini, he can sit off the cheap speed of Kip Deville and High Cotton, Bluegrass Cat has to try to get the ju8mp on Bernardini, even so, I don't think he is in the same zip code, he's running for second, maybe, Ministers Bid could just as easily be second as well.

Bernardini will win because he is God's horse. No horse can compare to this noble steed.

The owners and trainers of the competition are fools. Why enter their horses into this race to face certain defeat? The great Bernardini will rise to the challenge and lead the chants of ALLAH AKBAR when he enters the winners circle.

Take heed.

Yep. It's Bernardini 1st, Bluegrass Cat 2nd (like the derby and belmont) and the rest are fighting for 3rd.

There is no doubt that BC has got to stay in front of Bern. No way does BC pass Bern in the stretch.

How can you say that?

When has Bernardini had to fight back and hold someone off, we know he has talent, but does he have heart? That hasn't been answered yet and anyone that says he does is a fool and should take up another sport. Bernardini won the Preakness after Barbaro broke down, Brother Derek getting hurt, and Sweetnorthernsaint being over the top. After that he got a easy lead and ran away. Can anyone deny this? Please tell me something different. I like this horse, but you are insane to annoint him anything other than what has happened, until he proves it...

Cheap speed is a non-factor. Kip is a nothing horse and will have no effect on this race. There is no way his presence should affect any other horse. They can let him go out there and get 15 in front if he wants to because he's shown that he can't finish even when running shorter distances so he'll come back to them here too.

Agree that BC's chances are damaged with a rabbit in the mix. I also believe that his best chance was to wire the field or benefit from some soft pace.

Bluegrass Cat, wire a field? When has he shown enough speed to wire a field?
Hes not a speed horse. I think he takes back here, maybe sits 5th or 6th and hope the pace falls apart and makes one late run but falls very short of catching Bernardini. He'll be all out to get 2nd from the other Pletcher horse.

Beating Bellamy Road and Roman Ruler are one thing but beating Bernardini is quite another. Pletecher has a very tall task in front of him to get another Travers. But it would be a feather in his cap if he could pull it off.

Man, you love to be negative about horses. Bellamy Road was not ready to run that day, and although Roman Ruler certainly isn't a world beater, he was just coming off a couple of VERY nice wins heading into the Travers. Last year's performance by Flower Alley in the Travers was very, very gutty.

That's very interesting to see Kip in there, if he can carry that flashy speed to the dirt, Bernardini is not going to get this race gift wrapped to him like he has in the last two. He's going to have to put him away, have others run at him and then hold off closers. I like Bernardini and I think he's extremely talented, but he has been on the recieving end of two perfect storms. I want him to earn it and if he does, he will finally deserve the praise he's received...

Minister's Bid and Dr Pleasure aren't coupled?
