memphis suggestions

tony and i are going to memphis for the long weekend. have been through there a million times, but have never stopped there. we do plan to head to shiloh one morning, otherwise no real plans. any recommendations on food, places to see? (no, not graceland-no interest at all). several suggestions from folks to go to rendezvous, supposed to be a great bbq joint.

Ditch Memphis all together and head to the Smokey Mountains.

I actually found the tour of Graceland

20 min out of town is tunica..go play some slots and tables..

The coal chute gave him a vent for his considerable talent over a grill, and allowed him to expand from ham-and-cheese sandwiches to ribs.

Today, several thousand people on an average Saturday night pour into our basement and sink their teeth into a slab of what makes Memphis, well, Memphis. Presidents and potentates, the King and the Killer, Rolling Stones, *NSYNC, and everybody who’s anybody have all been down for a bite.

We’re all about ribs, but our menu is as varied and interesting as the wide array of incredible stuff that adorns our walls and ceilings.

Charlie’s kids run things now, and their kids are coming along, and their kids will follow. You see, ribs, restaurants in basements and Greek hospitality are Vergos things. And that’s a good thing.


By the way, we still make a mean ham-and-cheese sandwich too.

My friend and I were both asked to leave graceland we were laughing so hard. It was very serious which then made us laugh harder.

Haven't read the whole thread Zig don't know if it's already here but go see the peabody ducks it's quite funny.

And yeah, mud island is pretty cool, Beale st. is where the music and restaurants.

bony and i are going to memphis for the wrong weekend. have been through there a million times, but have never stopped there...there is a reason for that,why we are stopping this time only Tommy No Cruise knows.. we do plan to head to shiloh one morning---you know, the place where shanghai used to be--- otherwise no real plans.We're dumb....what can I tell you?.. any recommendations on food, places to see? i have tix to one hogs game-burp!! ---to pull for lsu! i'll be watching the tigers take on nc saturday night. we thought about going to atlanta and the game, but tix were just ridiculous. ( they won't let us go there)..and the Tigers are going to really suck this year.

I think Memphis is where I went to DeJaVu's. Check it out when you get there, if its still open. It was a fun place.
