Default 10/7: Belmont Park (1st-9th)

Wacky Wednesday as dangerous torrential rain washed out Oak Tree/HollyPark, while insane parade of chalk ruled Belmont. Actually had big shot at OK P4 hit in the NY nightcap with Catreign, but she could not deny 4-5 Jersey Shore Girl at the wire. Uggh. The quad payed $21!!! Woo-hoo! Hope you did OK despite the short numbers... Only 2 of the 4 grass events are off the Belmont turf today, and it has the look of a fun betting card. Tons of important stakes to starting talking about on ATR today and Friday!

BELMONT PARK

PRE-SCRATCHES

4th and 9th are OFF the turf; 6th and 8th remain ON the turf..

1st: CLM, F&M-3+, 1m (P3, DD, Super)

Most Likely: #6 Amiga Del Sol 5-2 4th
Next Best: #2 Exiled Princess 7-2 WON ($6.30)
Best Value: #8 Judicial Leader 12-1 8th
Super Add: #7 Offlee Cool 3-1 2nd

2nd: MSW, 3+, 1m (P4, P3, DD)

Best Value: #3 Ae Pit 7-2 WON ($9.40)
Next Best: #2 Rumbling 7-5 5th
Exotics Use: #5 Doctor Peach 5-1 4th

3rd: MDN CLM, 2yo, 6f (P3, DD, Super)

Best Value: #6 Wildcat Stevie 9-2 8th
Next Best: #5 Radio Row 7-2 3rd
Exotics Use: #3 Pike Place 12-1 4th
Super Add: #9 Flying Gang 4-1 2nd

4th: NY-MSW, 2yo, 8.5f OFF THE TURF (P6, P3, DD, Super)

Best Value: #16 Local Legacy 6-1 6th
Next Best: #15 Stephen's Revenge 5-1 4th
Exotics Use: #3 Rudy Rudy Rudy 5-2 8th
Super Add: #6 Cooks Forest 6-1 9th

5th: CLM, 3+, 8.5f (G/S, P3, DD)

Some tough ol' veterans in here, and almost any could flash back to a winning effort..

Most Likely: #6 Saratoga Sinner 3-1 2nd
Next Best: #4 Old Man Buck 4-1 4th
Best Value: #7 Tommasi 6-1 5th
Exotics Use: #8 Nkosi Reigns 7-2 7th

<$75 P4 Play:

2: 2-3
3: 3-5-6
4: 15-16
5: 1-3-4-6-7-8

2x3x2x6 = $72

6th: NY-MSW, F&M-3+, 8.5f-IT

Next Best: #8 New York Kitten 5-2 WON ($6.40)
Best Value: #10 Alex's Buck 10-1 6th
Super Add: #9 Tropical Jetset 7-2 2nd

7th: MSW, 2yo, 7f (P3, DD, Super)

Serious looking, and quirky, MDN affair, and I'm inclined to look beyond the short numbered players; Note Garcia named on both ends of Darley entry which features (#1) Storm 'n Indian, first out son of MGSW Fleet Indian; Debuting Adios Charlie's half brother, Streakin' Mohican, had been scheduled to run Wednesday at HOL..

Best Value: #2 Adios Charlie 6-1 2nd
Next Best: #7 Economic Summit 4-1 WON ($7.90)
Exotics Use: #10 Rock Hard Nicky 8-1 6th
Super Add: #4 Eighth Avenue 10-1 7th

8th: Glowing Honor, F&M-3+, 6f-T (DD, Super)

Speaking of quirky, here's as curious a group as you'll encounter; What makes Quebrada Shiner a 5-2 favorite exactly? She's consistant at least, but I'm looking elsewhere..

Best Value: #9 Lookalike 20-1 7th
Next Best: #3 Granted Tiger 6-1 4th
Exotics Use: #11 Quebrada Shiner 5-2 2nd
Super Add: #4 Go for Jan 5-1 6th

9th: CLM, F&M-3+, 7f OFF THE TURF (Super)

Best Value: #4 Sugar Trade 8-1 4th
Next Best: #13 Pleasant Sister 7-2 3rd
Exotics Use: #7 Ain't Love Grand 10-1 2nd
Super Add: #14 Arctic Queen 4-1 9th

<$50 P4 Play:

6: 5-8
7: 2-7
8: 3-9-11
9: 4-7-13-14

2x2x3x4 = $48

Good luck!
Steve

RUDY!

Who wouldn't have expected Brigadier General to do that?

As I said today on the show, this is a very bad situation.

We have 2 choices. Eat the Chalk or bring our handle elsewhere. I'll do the later and only bet the Graded Stakes which he doesn't participate in..

He showed a lot of speed in his first two. . . that one didn't shock me.

Isn't his barn under 24 hour surveillance?

Granted, this was a pitifully bad field but that horse stopped on a dime in his first two starts. Usually horses like he and Adams Circle finding yet another gear in the last furlong has something to do with artificial help. I'm just sayin...

Obviously these horses are crazy juiced. . . There's no other explanation, but this horse figured on paper to get loose. Chased as the favorite in his debut and then pressed a next-out winner before fading after getting loose behind the gate. I didn't see video of the race yet because of the NYSRWB so maybe he did something more improbable than I realize, but this doesn't seem like the poster child for Rudygate.

In addition to Adams Castle, BB Frank ran a pretty amazing race yesterday as well. And Endless Circle only put in his "usual" post-claim performance.
