![]() Uggh. Leading with one race remaining in the Monmouth contest yesterday, someone put a huge % of their bankroll on You Go West Girl and got me for 1st. The frustrating thing is only the winner got a WS trip to Vegas though most of their contests qualify 2 or 3. Not to mention a difference in prize money. Of course I can't call it a tough beat b/c I didn't even know someone had bet the horse heavy in the contest. In a real money contest, there is no way to know who anyone has or how much they've put on a given race....So I had to wait until the last totals updated to see I got nipped. Oh well. 2nd is helpful but not the same.

![]() Tough beat but still a good result.
I play in lots of real money contests. They almost always come down to someone making a large bet (often times going all in) on the last race. This is important strategy to keep in mind for future contests. Paul |

![]() I hear you, I knew it was possible. With the lead I had and no strong opinion in the last race, there was no incentive for me to bet it in the contest.

![]() Tough beat. Good job getting to that point, Monmouth tournaments are TOUGH, very strong competition.
