Default Hold That Tiger

WO NELLY.Looks like the Tigers are gunna lose the 1st game of a doubleheader. They better take the 2nd game, because if they don't,they will be only 3 1/2-4 games up. Sweat is abounding in Motown this afternoon.Damn,I wish the A's had gotten shaky like this.No luck for Scuds this Summer, but I haven't lost anything(just not making like I had hoped to.)Damn quitter Red Sox.

Twinks were an incredible price to win that central.I think they were behind the Chisox by about 10 games(13 or so behind Detroit.)To think they had a chance at the division(at the break)was almost unthinkable. It isn't now.Any Twink fans get some of those odds?

Well they have a much better shot tonight with Wright pitching for the Yankees. You also have to wonder at what stage the Yanks will lose ineterest and start platooning starters to get a break. They are now 8 games up on Boston.

Everybody have fun tonight, everybody wang chung tonight.

I'm going to drown my sorrows in ice cream. Kept $25 for dinner & dessert tonight and have a $1 off 2 pints of Ben & Jerrys coupon. Ya, I do have that going for me.

Did you guys happen to see that line drive off the head of that Mariner pitcher Soriano, hit by Vlad last night? Jeepers, that was some scary highlight. I couldnt watch it more than once, but those knuckleheads on ESPN delight in showing stuff like that. Hes going to be okay. Vlad felt terrible but its part of the game.

Yanks spank the Tigers again. Tigers get lucky with a Chisox loss tonight but Minny wins. Tigers aren't homefree yet in the divison but I cant see them blowing at least a wildcard. Only question is who goes home? Chisox or Minny?

Yankees better hope the White Sox dont make the playoffs. They can handle the Twins, who have repeatedly layed down in the postseason against the Yanks. I hate watching any team play in indoor stadiums, its just not right. Baseball is a game meant to be played on real grass outside with sun, wind, cold temps (in the postseason) and rain. Thats what its all about.

Yanks will have their hands filled with Chicago, and so will everyone else for that matter.

If the White Sox and Astros make the playoffs, they become the teams to beat in each league.

Tim the Yanks have handled Chi quite nicely this year. They swept them at the Stadium and then took one of 3 in Chi town with one easy win blown by an Arod error that was just incredible. They don't have a problem with the Tigers, Twins, Or Chisox.
YOu missed who the Yanks could have a huge problem with and that Oakland. Thats the team I want nothing to do with, nada. Good news is that whether the Yanks finish with the best record(I predict that, only 3 back and have the next 6 games against Baltimore and KC!!! LOL!!) or the 2nd best record, they will start off playing an AL central team since the wildcard will most assuredly come from there and the Tigers are the other team with a shot at best record and they can't play a division rival in the first round.
Yanks will open at home against the wild card team no matter what happens. Which is great news to me. Any of three will be just fine.
Just have to hope then that the other Al Central team takes out Oakland in the first round. Those trips are brutal on teams flying back and forth but its always easier coming east than it is going west. 7 or 8 Pm start times out there are like 10 or 11 oclock start times for the East Coast team. Thats not much fun. Yanks are going to the ALCS, and in all probability the World Series.

By the way Tim the Yanks do want that home field and if Vegas had odds on whow would finish with the best record it would have to be the Yanks as the fave even 3 back. Tigers and Chi Sox and Minny have a lotta games left against each other and they will take turns beating each other up. Yanks have powder puffs and catching basically Toronto, Bosox, Baltimore, and Devil rays from here on in is a cakewalk they didnt expect. Teams expand to 40 man rosters today and you can bet now that those 4 teams have been eliminated from contention that the last month they will send out plenty of AAA callups to get some experience and see who fits in the plans for next year or to promote them as trade bait in the off season. I can't really see how they could not finish with the best record in the AL. Of course I predicted this when they were 9 back of Detroit and everyone scoffed at me. I think I'll hear crickets chirping now!!!

To win one 5 game series and then two 7 game series, I still like the White Sox better than anybody with the A's a close second. I guess my 3rd choice would be the Dodgers, who if they stumble into the World Series, they'd be playing with so much momentum behind Greg Maddux, they would be a popular fan's choice to get it done. I know I'll be rooting for LA from start to finish.
