Probably the last good Storm Cat & another good Arch
Hoorayforhollywood - A Baffert trained Storm Cat colt out of multiple Grade 1 winning router Hollywood Story - won his debut at Santa Anita on Monday very impressively by a clear margin going 5.5fs in sharp time.
Another late to debut horse with a lot of promise for this 3-year-old male crop. Though very soundly beaten - I really liked the look of the Asmussen/Padua debuter by Arch who finished 2nd. That's one that could improve plenty with a better trip and more ground to work with. |

is there a source that tells you how sires do with first time out on turf, dirt, mud by each year. I know as an example we can easily find how a Sire like Storm Cat has done career wise in these categories but what if wanted to see it broken down by years?

None that I know of.
I think Storm Cat has like three horses left in this years upcoming 2-year-old crop - and that's it for him. The Beyer for the race was 96 by the way. But, it's very likely the winner and 2nd place are going to want more ground and should move forward. |

HOORAYFORHOLLYWOOD Feb 15 SA 4 :46.4H M FT B Broke 3 back from Stakes type Sinai (47.2) finishing solidly to go 2 back at the line while going a full 5 on our watch in 23.3, 59.0. Sharp for the level.---Grade: B HOORAYFORHOLLYWOOD Feb 9 SA 6 1:12.1HG M FT B Clearly best to barnmate Artuya (112.1g) showing a strong later scoot with Bejarano up. Went 24.3, 47.4, 112.2. No super fast early but was solid all the way.---Grade: B HOORAYFORHOLLYWOOD Jan 28 SA 6 1:12HG M FT B Bejarano up; not overly quick early but was willing thereafter while a bit the best over barnmate Rock So Hard in a steady enough 24.1, 47.4, 112.3. Seems a decent type.---Grade: B ROTHKO Feb 14 SA 4 :49H M FT B Even keeled horse breezed here in 37.1, 48.4 (11.2 last furlong). Certainly has a late kick.---Grade: B ROTHKO Feb 7 SA 5 :58.2HG M FT B Not too much early speed shown in 36.1 but rallied strongly in the lane finishing with power and spark in 47.1, 59.1 galloping big in 110.4. Will give away some ground early but should come running late.---Grade: B ROTHKO Jan 31 SA 5 1:00.2H M FT B Talamo up; light hold working with barnmate Wilburn (100.2) nice late rush in 37.1, 100.4 out in 113.4. Seems a solid citizen.---Grade: B |
