Default Church & State

How does government money go to re-building a church? Blago got lucky on this one and gave it to a worthless private school with no religious affiliation. And that went great!!! Get government out of EVERYTHING but governing!

Why do some people apply a religious test for being President of the United States, even though the constitution specifically says otherwise?

Yeah, really Riot! F your constitution. All of us real American patriots, with a heaping of help from the Big Guy above, would like to restore this country to what it once was (after we destroyed the heathen Indians). Our plan has no room for a science minded, rational individual. It has to come from someone with the same superstitions as us

Not sure your question had anything to do with the post but I'll answer it anyway.

Some religions are prejudiced against women and other religions and inherently violent and barbaric.

I agree with you that there is no religious test for becoming President but there are voters who want no part of someone who would be a follower of what some religions espouse. Like a father killing his daughter to preserve his honor. Or a group in the name of religion beheading a group of volunteer workers because a book was burned half way around the world.

I agree to a degree but your talking about extremist views, I don't want a right wing fundamentalist President who would attack gays and want to repeal civil rights laws either. I have nothing against the idea of a President who embraces Islam, or is Jewish, follower of Buddha etc. It's the quality of the individual that's important.

I wouldn't want a President that would attack gays and repeal civil rights either. However I wouldn't say gay and civil rights are on the top of the agenda for Islamic countries either. In fact Iran has gone on record for having no gays in their country at all.

Funny how you have nothing against Islam and their actions/views but do against some right wing fundamentalist who doesn't even exist.

Have you visited the Westboro site? Of course those type exist. I have nothing against any organized religion only those who pervert the teachings of same. There are many followers of Islam who live in this country and are no different than you or me. Religion is not the enemy, evil people are...and they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and professed religious ideologies. Again, it's the individual that counts not what box we can put him/her in.
