And stupid me believed the press reports saying we did not notify Pakistan we were coming in because of a fear bin Laden would be tipped off. In other words we didn't trust them.

Every terrorist they kill is the next bin Laden. They're throwing everything but the kitchen sink in order to keep us distracted from the economy.

Trillions to kill glorified cavemen because of our inability to comprehend that Saudis in flight school is a red flag.

Yes. So? It's pretty clear that lower downs within that corrupt government knew bin Laden was there. Why would we tip them off and blow our mission?

Toughen up, bunkie. Real world isn't pretty. With the nuclear weapons in that part of the world, you bet we will continue to hang on to a base of control there, even if it means supporting this or that terrible regime.

Yeah, isn't all black and white....doesn't mean we have to be in love with these governments but often comes down to lesser of two evils. The good news is that we have recently seen increased success in getting high value targets. Obama putting more emphasis on covert missions, less on a "boots on the ground" philosophy and it's paying off. I don't support "nation building" any more than you do but stopping terrorism begins with cutting off the heads of terrorist groups.
