Default What's with the first 90 min of BC Sat tv coverage?

I've got our local ABC affiliate's sister station WMYA (not ABC proper) carrying the BC races from 2-3:30pm. I looked up the channel online trying to figure out what's going on, and it lists my market as a "Grade B signal." Swell. There's college football going on, and I get that they can't exactly cut out of a game midstream, but ESPN advertises the BC as being on ABC from 2-3:30 and then ESPN the rest of the time. At least tell people to check their local listings or something.

Is this funky tv schedule impacting anybody else? It could very well be just my area since it's NC State vs UNC Chapel Hill, but if anybody's gonna be trying to record the races, this makes a difference. I won't get to watch those in HD which is rather annoying, but this isn't even a standard quality network signal.

I can't get TVG. I listened to it on Horseracingradio.net though. They're giving me my pre-tv fix.

What's with the ABC opening? Does anybody do sound checks? They're showing the stretch run of the Marathon at least. Then the Juvy Turf load. Wow, still no voiceovers. I bet the boys in the truck are having an aneurysm.

ETA: Ok Jeanine interviewed Aidan I think, and they obviously have no idea there's no sound.

Default abc breeders cup telecast

I live in the Detroit area and ABC showed the EASTERN mi. Ball state game instead of the BREEDERS cup. It looked as if there were less than 10K fans in the stands. I have TVG and HRTV, plus a Twinspires acct. so I was not impacted. Just another insult to horse racing fans in the Detroit area.
