Technology in racing

I need to preface this because I know what I want to ask but I'm having a hard time finding the right words.

I had asked a little about this on a Fair Grounds thread a couple of weeks ago but my questiuons have now gone a step further...

... and while I know better than to judge a book etc. wow it is pretty uninspired.

So this is my semi-illiterate and overly long-winded question...

Is there (or shouldn't there be) a company that can perform these tasks in a more up-to-date manner?

Is anyone doing a kind of 3D thing that can be carried over into a lot of different aspects of racing?

A 3D version of Trackus for example... something that could conceivably demonstrate things like bias based on the earlier races of the day?

Is this making sense to anyone? Do you guys understand what I'm asking about?

These companies like the one I already mentioned... on their web site it states that they've basically been around since the 50s...

Over the years, we have serviced many different race tracks, management teams, and racing officials. Our company has an in-depth understanding of the requirements of today's racing industry as it relates to all contract services and management needs.

Do they have a monopoly? Do they have competition? Do the tracks actively seek out new and better ways of helping us, the bettors? Is it the easy way out, the "we've always done it this way" mentality?

Do any of you know?

You would think that these things were uniform and that it would be exact * instead of reading quotes like the above.

I would anyway.

Is anyone addressing these things?

* ( I'm not talking about speed figures. That's a kind of science and an artform... I mean the visual stuff that one could imagine being in 3D. Just want to be clear on that).
