Ever So Lucky is apparently being thought of as a miler at best by his trainer.

Quote:
“He’s sort of an in-between horse in my estimation as far as distance is concerned,” Sheppard said. “He’s cut out to be a high-class miler, but because of his relaxed style he can stretch out, although I wouldn’t call him an out-and-out stayer. We’ll just take things one race at a time and see how he progresses. I don’t have any huge obsession to run in the Derby. It would be fun if we do, but I’m not going to run just for the sake of being there. I’m not going to sacrifice the horse to do that, and I think both I and Mr. Strawbridge feel the same way.” |

Hes nice and all, but its a tough spot catching the Pletcher first time back. I do hope Ever So Lucky wins, it would be cool seeing Sheppard on the Derby Trail.

Speaking of Dutrow. He is doing quite well for someone "banned" for 10 years. I seemed to have missed how he got his stay

Trickmeister looked horrendous. . . it's always been said that he's not a good work horse, but still hard to be confident in him after that. Not that I really liked him.

Just wondering......
How do trainers get permission to work their horses in between races?

With all due respect to Andy, I always think the horse's name is Where's Serling.
Fun day of racing! |

I've never been able to get a handle on him but if he wins this race I will be astonished.

Anyone have post position stats for 9 furlong dirt races at Gulfstream? I have them for this year, but I'm interested in more than one year, like maybe since they renovated the track. Specifically, the outside posts (9,10,11) in 9 furlong dirt races.

Did Castellano go left stick or did Mission Impaz decide he didn't want to be a winner today?

Another Grade 1 win for Get Stormy.

I always liked the horse but lets be serious he needs the lead and pretty slow for a multiple grade 1 winner. He is cool but more just how crappy are our Graded grass horses.

The fact that Silver Medallion was 7-5 in that race is an even bigger testament to this. Also testament to the 'tards will bet absolutely anything Pletcher sends out at Gulfstream' principle.
