![]() My favorite style of wagering is finding longshots to round-out the Tri/Super. This year's Derby is tricky... for Rousing Sermon to get third or fourth, it's really asking for a lot to happen. There are least 7 or 8 horses who are legitimate contenders this year, and you could stretch that number a bit to 10 or 12.
On the flip side, I think there's a more than decent chance the pace is hot, thus allowing for plenty of horses from well back the opportunity to grab a piece. But again, Rousing Sermon is going to have to pass a lot of quality 3-year-olds. I'm sure I'll still key a few bombers underneath, because the pace can create some chaos... but unlike past year's, this year it's a bit tricky because of the top-heavy quality of the group. |
