He was flying late in the Derby and had plenty of excuses.....I'll Have Another won't be at his best after running his eye balls off 2 in a row....the rest o them are heading to the glue factory after the race....

I'm not as against him as others. I was being sincere when asking for your rationale. But there are plenty of horses that can "fly late" and manage to continuously come up short as an underlay.

Personally, I don't think the speed ceiling is much higher than what rags has already shown. Thus, you're counting on iha regressing. I don't see that happening....at least not 14 points.

I don't hate Union Rags in the Belmont, but I can't see how he'll improve enough to win. I think Matz overthought his options with him after the Derby.

Given the brilliance of your last Belmont Stakes selection, I doubt anyone on this board will ignore your selection....

Thumbs up I Can't Wait

Union Rags, Dullahan and Paynter all have a shot but have to be 5 to 1 or better(which in the case of Union Rags, Dullahan you won't get)
or I would not play them against a dual classic winner with proven tactical speed,a huge will to win and what might be the "Gods are with us" factor in a young talented jock and a whole nation rooting for him!
Paynter and Unstopple U appear to be enough "Speed types" or you just might see I'll Have Another go out and run them off there feet Ala Secretariat(no comparison intended)
Of course this is all speculative banter at this early juncture but I am going to be on pins and needles for 3 weeks talking thinking and hoping for a triple crown winner and ultimately a great story and uplifting event for our sport and the nation

Default Union Rags?

Reasons to like Union Rags...
1. Loves the Belmont strip
2. Best race is the stalking and pounce late - perfect for 1 1/2 miles.
3. Has shown ability to win with trouble.
4. Fresh and prepared by one of the best trainers in spotting a horse.
5. May get Johnny V who rides Belmont course well.
Questions which could go against betting Union Rags...
1. Has he improved over last year?
2. Is he a horse who gets himself in trouble?
3. Will he be bet too much as the alternative horse?
4. Is I'll Have Another just getting better and better and a faster horse?
I love Union Rags for the Belmont, but must admit I have been surprised by the ability of I'll Have Another, especially how he caught Bode in the Preakness. In the end though, hoping the public jumps all over IHA and inflates the price of Union Rags enough to bet (thinking about it at 4-1 but 5-1+ is what really needed for a logical bet).

1. Silly
2. OK, but his ped hardly screams 1 1/2 miles
3. Overrated trouble
4. Based on what?
5. I imagine whomever rides him will be a top jockey

Don't spend that 5/2 in one place, super 'capper.

I had Atigun for some real cash. Enjoy though. 5/2 is much better. You're the only one who had it.
