Default Camelot

Surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet.

We just might be looking at a super star in the making. If he wins the
St. Leger in September, he will be the first to win their version of that Triple Crown in 32 years.

I was lucky enough to be at Epsom to see his Derby win. It was spectacular! I thought he was in trouble at the home turn, but the way he changed leads and accelerated was really breathtaking. An incredible talent.

I agree... He is something special, amd I can't wait for his next race.

At least there is someone here that knows who I am talking about.

Thanks for being brave and speaking on my thread

Hey Arletta! Great post on Derby Trail!

I will speak up too

I am also a huge fan of Camelot! You are so right when you say he is something special! I don't know if you are aware of this but today he won the Irish Derby! According to BBC sports: "He is now the 16th horse to complete the Epsom and Irish Derby double and the first since Nijinsky in 1970 to claim the Guineas as well as both Derbies."

It was a very courageous performance! His connections were thinking of scratching the horse because they were afraid he would not do well over the ground! Several horses wound up dropping out for this same reason! But Camelot wound up running and he had to work for it today, being tested by another horse over a surface he clearly did not like! He won by two lengths!

Again you are right when you say he is something special - he has been showing that to us time and time again!

I hope he gets the chance to run in the third leg of the Triple Crown! If he is healthy I believe he will win the UK Triple Crown this year! Something that we may not see again.

I wonder if he were to win the elusive Triple Crown what impact that would have on Frankel and his connections! Perhaps winning the Triple Crown in the United Kingdom would mean Camelot suddenly would become the front runner for the United Kingdoms 2012 Horse of the Year - forcing Frankel's connections to race against Camelot and have to beat him for the title! Not to mention that Frankel would finally have somebody in Europe that punters could say is worthy of testing him! Frankel versus Camelot would be one of the greatest races of the year! Two undefeated super horses putting it on the line! Could you imagine!

Whatever reasons there are for the Frankel and Camelot connections to have to race each other I hope it happens! The way I see it now Camelot needs to beat Frankel to win the horse of the year title! Even winning the elusive Triple Crown does not make Camelot the 2012 Horse of the year! Amazing when you think about it right?
