8/26: Saratoga (Personal Ensign); Del Mar (Pacific Classic; $570k C/O)
147th Travers produced a once-in-a-century result Saturday with the dead heat between Golden Ticket & Alpha providing the day an extra added jolt of excitement and wonder. Lots more to say but late getting things out today so I'll save it for tomorrow on air and in print. Was a fun afternoon at the Old Spa, but I had a poor day at the windows getting smacked around for -$500+. Look to get it back and more today! Pacific Classic card and $570k 2-day P6 C/O at Del Mar along with Royal Delta/It's Tricky -- and Spondulix in the nightcap -- at Saratoga. Hope you did OK Saturday and that my miscues didn't bury you..

Most Likely: #2 Thescreenisred 5-2 WON ($4.40) Next Best: #6 Princess Jenny 4-1 5th Best Value: #9 Desert Bliss 12-1 4th Exotics Use: #3 White Sangria 5-1 3rd 4th: Clever Electrician-NY, 3+, 7f (P3, DD) Most Likely: #6 Fiddler's Afleet 3-1 WON ($10.20) Best Value: #7 Johannesburg Smile 4-1 3rd Next Best: #1 Sailmate 5-2 2nd Exotics Use: #4 Mine Over Matter 4-1 4th 5th: NY-MSW, 3+, 8.5f-IT (P3, DD) Most Likely: #2 Mr Cowboy 5-2 WON ($5.60) Next Best: #5 Breathaway 3-1 7th Best Value: #7 Call Up the Chief 12-1 4th Exotics Use: #8 Current Aquasition 15-1 9th <$75 P4 Play: 2: 1-2-3-4-7-8 3: 2-3-6-9 4: 1-6-7 5: 2-5 6x4x3x2 = 144 x .50 = $72 $0.50 Pick 4 (1-2/13/14-6-2/12/13) $252.00 6th: NY-MSW, 2yo-F, 6f (P6, P3, DD) Kind of a non-descript bunch.. Still think Royal Delta bests them, but potential is there for an epic stretch duel between the two.. Most Likely: #4 Royal Delta 4-5 2nd Next Best: #1 It's Tricky 2-1 3rd Exotics Use: #5 R Gypsy Gold 15-1 6th 11th: NY-MSW, 3+, 5.5f-T Delighted to send Dee Tee's first grey runner postward here as Spondulix makes his debut. Has worked well toward this and really raised his game when moving to the lawn for most recent drill. Proviso for this spot is distance, as he has indicated that middle distance will be his ideal trip. It's not the toughest looking bunch of coconuts you'll see, so with a clean break he could have a real shot at a share or more. Fair Trade and the 3 perched on the AE list are the ones to fear.. NOTE: #13 Verde Mont does draw in.. Most Likely: #13 Verde Mont 2-1 4th Next Best: #12 Owen Rico 6-1 WON ($14.60) Best Value: #7 Chase On Home 30-1 3rd Exotics Use: #10 Fair Trade 5-2 5th Super Add: #1 Late SCR (Injured in gate) <$75 P4 Play: 8: 2-3-4-7-8-10 9: 1-3-4-6-7-8 10: 1-4 11: 12-13 6x6x2x2 = 144 x .50 = $72 DEL MAR POST-SCRATCHES 5th: 27th Pat O'Brien (G2), 3+, 7f (P3, DD) Most Likely: #5 Camp Victory 9-5 3rd Next Best: #6 Coil 8-5 2nd Exotics Use: #3 Capital Account 5-2 WON ($7.60) Super Add: #2 Mobilized 8-1 5th 6th: Cal-MSW, 2yo-F, 6f (P6, P3, DD) $570k P6 C/O starts here.. Tough set but nice that this at least starts the sequence so you can watch the board for additional clues.. Best Value: #10 Roust 'Em Bertie 6-1 6th Next Best: #4 Van Dien Avenue 9-2 7th Exotics Use: #7 Sacred Delight 8-1 4th Super Add: #6 Another Flashback 7-2 3rd 7th: 26th Del Mar Mile (G2), 3+, 1m-T (P3, DD) Not such an easy group from which to isolate one or two..
