Default Bill Clinton

Wow. That guy can deliver a barn-burning political speech. No matter your politics (I never voted for him), you have to admire his unique blend of international philanthropic Rhodes Scholar financial background with country Arkansas politics

Clinton expertly ripped the current Republican Party, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to shreds, expertly, completely and with a smile on his face; exposing the lies and hypocrisy - and high points - of that entire party over the past 50 years.

The GOP Medicare lie, the GOP Welfare lie, "this Republican narrative, the alternative universe .... ", then segueing into Obama's remarkable - yes, remarkable - accomplishments and policies on education, veterans, the auto industry, etc. All covered in 48 minutes.

If you haven't seen it, you must:

It was a great speech if Clinton was telling the truth. Slick Willie knew the fact checkers would rip his speech to shreds. You know his real goal is for Obama to lose and for Hillary to run in 2016.

This is why nobody takes your comments seriously.

Oh! You got a mention in Clinton's speech, however!

you do know, don't you, that obama can win and hillary can run in '16? why would clinton want obama to lose to get her to run in '16? i don't get the line of reasoning there.
and from what i saw from fact checkers, there wasn't much to find fault with, if anything. nothing comes to mind.

I'll just say this -- I saw Bill Clinton speak last summer at a conference, and he's the smoothest dude on the planet.

If you're super pro-business, pro-tax cuts, he makes it sound like he's talking directly to you. If you're a pro-tax hikes on the wealthy, populist type, he makes it sound like he's talking to you.

And nobody in the room is confused, because he's talking directly to you no matter who you are. It's crazy, but it was amazing to see.

He could say that you've got terminal cancer and by the time he's finished you'd be apologizing to him for having to break the news to you.

He's that good.

Come on Danzig, the Clinton's are smart enough to know that after four more years of Obams, a President Bill Clinton calls incompetent, Hillary would have a harder time running in 2016 and defending the Democrat record than McCain did defending the Republican record in 2008. If they were so confident in 4 more years of Obama, Hillary would be running for VP instead of that beyond stupid dolt Biden.

What fact checkers are you reading? Even the biased Washington Post pointed out lies, but for a real good one check out Breibart's fact check. It is a fact check where they actually address the facts and they rip slick Willie's speech to shreds.

first of all, i don't think hillary will run. could be wrong, but i don't see it. especially with her leaving state-to do what? now, if she does decide to run, leaving his cabinet now would make sense. it distances her from him and any issues.
as for running against his record-of course she could do that, whether he wins or loses.

and where the fact checking is concerned on bill, i saw slate, and then factcheck.org, with an excerpt below:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former President Bill Clinton’s stem-winding nomination speech was a fact-checker’s nightmare: lots of effort required to run down his many statistics and factual claims, producing little for us to write about.

Republicans will find plenty of Clinton’s scorching opinions objectionable. But with few exceptions, we found his stats checked out

Breibart had a very different take on it and they actually backed it up with facts.
