Scott Brown - Elizabeth Warren Debate tonight - Brown tried to weasle out
This is why I LOVE watching politics
Update: Debate time: 7:00-8:00 ET Watch and/or listen: The debate will stream live on CBSBoston.com. It will also be on C-Span 3 ------------------------------ Tonight is the first debate between candidates for Senate in Mass., incumbent R-Scott Brown, and challenger D-Elizabeth Warren, who created the Consumer Protection Bureau in the Obama administration (but wasn't allowed to head it by Republican obstructionism to her appointment) Brown has been leading Warren in the polls until she spoke at the Dem convention, now Warren is leading Brown. Scheduling Warren vs. Brown debates was difficult, as Brown didn't want to do any at all. He succumbed to public pressure to debate Warren. Today, Scott Brown notified the press he would possibly miss the debate, due to Senate votes he had to make today: Quote:
But then Senate Leader Harry Reid heard about this, and took to the Senate floor and talked to the press: Quote:

Not sure where one can view this debate at this time, still looking. (You may now commence the obligatory RWNJ false flag attack on Warren regarding her heritage)

In the bizarro world, taking one's responsibility to vote seriously is being a "weasle."
Legislators were hoping to pass the bill on the continuing resolution tonight, no matter how late, so that the Senate would not need to be in session on Friday and so they could get back to their districts instead. As of 3:30 p.m. ET, Brown was still in Washington, held up by the prospect of late-night votes in the Senate on a continuing resolution to fund the government that needs to get passed before Congress goes into recess. This afternoon, Brown said that he would need to stay in Washington and skip the debate if there turned out to be late-night votes. (Brown has missed only one Senate vote. ~ OldDog) That prompted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to declare that there would be no votes tonight. As he did so, Reid suggested Brown was trying to use the Senate as an excuse to get out of his debate. http://news.yahoo.com/scott-brown-al...-politics.html When political grandstanding is needed, we can always count on Harry Reid. |

Uh oh! Looks like Lizzy might have some legal problems to sort out. What's the fine and jail time possible for practicing law w/o a license in MA?
