U.S. Basketball team or U.S. Ryder Cup team?
Which one is more pathetic?
Both are heads and shoulders more talented than their competition yet get out-played consistently.... |

Put a big purse up for winning the Basketball championships and I bet ya we'll win
Who says our golfers are better than the Europeans with the exception of Tiger and maybe Phil? I think the Euro's are better top to bottom . |

Yeah...Tiger Woods is unmatched, after that though, the Euro's simply have better players top to bottom. The US will win again, especially when played over here but it will never be easy! Basketball...I blame the NBA rules committee...in pandering to the "Duh, look ma, he can dunk...so pretty!" mentality, they have gotten away from the game! Basketball is a team game...you have to shoot the three, pass, cut, drive and dish, and (gulp) even make free throws to win! Today's NBA is nothing more than one-on-one and two man games. One guy handles the ball, another moves around and the other three stand with their fingers in their butts. When we play the World Rules game, our "O" can adapt (as long as we have shooters which isn't always the case) but our "D"...well, they are use to standing around and "D" is all about switching and hard work...until we change the NBA rules to match what the rest of the world is doing, we will lose to teams that outplay a group of individuals. It isn't fair to blame the players...they grow up learning that athletic ability is all you need...dunk pretty for the fans and you have a ticket to the NBA!

I think the Euro team record against the US Team speaks for itself. They have consistently flogged the US really for the last 12-14 years. The US tour is very deep top to bottom but there are few champions. Once you get past Tiger, there really are no super golfers IMO. That is the big difference from years long past. The tour use to be weaker in say the top 100 players but much stronger in the top 15-20 players.
