Being a Tigers fan my entire life (I'm only 20), I never knew baseball could be this fun. It was an awesome and fun summer of baseball, and it has been great so far in the playoffs. Normally by now all I care about is football, but baseball is just starting to get even better.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

As a Yankee fan, my hat is off to the tigers for what they have accomplished this year win, lose or draw. Leyland has done yet another phenomenal job and if he isnt one of the best managers in the last 25 years in baseball then i dont know who is.

It must be exciting to be a fan of a team like the Tigers. I became a Yankee fan as a small child and i suffered through the debacle in LA in 82 (cried) and all the way through the Mattingly years where the pitching staff consisted of Dave Righetti and whoever else they would suit up. When the yanks won in 96 it was one of the greatest moments in my life as a sports fan.

Its impossible to get that feeling back. The Yanks are now expected to win every year and even a world series victory at this point would be anti climatic.

If i were a tiger fan though? I do envy you. The tigers will lose this series but it will be a fun ride.

Anticlimatic? I dont think so. They have gone 5 seasons without a ring and for the Yankees, thats a long time. Kind of like going 30 years for any other organization. They have a heck of a chance this year with that lineup. If they dont get it done it will be a monumental disappointment for them and their fans.

Explain this to me if you will Tim. Couple of months ago you SAID that the Yankees wouldn't make the playoffs. Now you say if they don't get it done its a monumental disappointment.
Which one is it? Or does it change daily?

Keep Whining Yankee fan. Just like all the other frontrunners. Two games into the playoffs and already a must win against the lowly Tigers. What did they lose 30 of their last 50. Pathetic.

Where was Mr. Clutch Jeter yesterday.

Tonight the old man goes. WOW. Randy Johnson with the season on the line. Pathetic.

If it is a "monumental disappointment" if they dont win the series wouldnt it then be in a sense "anti-climatic" if they do? Perhaps its just semantics. If winning is expected it just isnt as thrilling when they do. Its just a lot more disappointing when the dont.
