Default what could go wrong?

http://news.msn.com/us/gun-carry-rig...-under-new-law

when i think of places we need armed occupants, bars are the first thing that come to mind...

after all, everyone in a bar is always of sound mind and never quick to act.

Yes because as we all know the problem with guns in this country is primarily those who are licensed to carry.

It's not the thugs. It's all of the law-abiding citizens.

This country is doomed.

Do you eat genetically modified food, zig? If so, stop eating it.

doesn't everyone eat genetically modified food?

you're right, it is the thugs for the most part. but sometimes reasonable people do unreasonable things.
we had a shooting here easter sunday. two neighbors that have had gripes on and off got into it in the road in front of their homes.
the 40-ish elementary school teacher shot his 78 year old neighbor and killed him.
over grading a driveway.

i know people want to have more control, and mass shootings by maniacs remind people we don't have full control.
i own guns. i'm not sure tho that i like the idea of guns in bars. seems like it would cause more problems then it solves.

Chicago had 37 shot and 8 killed during this past w/e, 90% gangbangers and other than the cop who killed his jail guard wife in a murder suicide none had carry permits what more FOID cards.

And some people in England kill other people with hammers because they don't have guns. Would that be better? Sometimes crazy people kill innocent people indiscriminately. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you don't / can't keep them in a psych ward.

No joke, i've said all that before.

But i dont see how guns in bars is a good step. what issue does this law address that was a problem before now? that will be solved by drunk georgians carrying in their local honky tonk?

I do not see how combining alcohol and firearms is preferable to not combining them.

zig do you really believe that a gun ban in bars will be followed by an unreasonable person?

Typically the person you're describing is a coward. They know that guns aren't allowed in certain places.

If anything, this will prevent rowdiness and overall thuggery in drinking establishments...If the BAR OWNER decides that guns are allowed.

This isn't even addressing the fact that we, as citizens, have a right to keep and bear arms.

I applaud the state of Georgia for helping to level the playing field and rejecting the authoritarian incompetence of the Feds who ship guns to Mexican cartels and want nothing more than to disarm law-abiding, tax paying citizens.

how interesting, i didn't know about this until someone posted it elsewhere...

http://www.theroot.com/articles/poli...flip_flop.html

i was reading an article about the rancher out west who had an armed standoff with the blm, because he's been grazing his cattle for decades on federal land, but won't pay the grazing fees.
