This is going to have a tremendous ripple effect throughout DC.

Obama can now officially kiss any sort of immigration reform good bye. GOP isn't going to bend an inch now unless they want to commit political suicide. Also probably has GOP discussing their strategy, and rethinking Rubio and/or Bush in 2016.

An outstandingly clear, concise, well expressed, and 100% correct opinion by CNN's Chief Political Analyst, Gloria Borger:

In Virginia, Democrats and Republicans can vote in either primary, as long as they only vote in one. I am curious if the loss was due to Democrats voting for Brat, seeing as how the Dems didn't even run a primary in that district.

Cooter, from The Dukes of Hazzard was pushing for that very thing to happen.

oh, good point.

it's the same here in arkansas. you don't have to register with a party, so when you go to the polling place to vote, you just tell them what ballot you want.

Beating Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia Republican primary yesterday was "the happiest moment, obviously, of my life," said Dave Brat, a married father of two.

And apparently he went on Chuck Todd's show this AM and said he wasn't prepared to answer any questions about policy. That's reassuring.
