Sad stuff. Pretty sure he was at the Phillies game yesterday for Fathers Day too.

There's not too many people out there that could hit like Gwynn.

I walk by his statue everyday at PETCO. Much loved by this City.

Pretty rare to grow up in San Diego, go to college and play college ball in San Diego, spend your entire career with San Diego, then retire and go back to your Alma mater to coach in San Diego.

His stats speak for themselves - dude rarely had more than 30 strikeouts in an entire season - compare that to today...

He hit .324 at Age 41 and hit over .300 in 19 out of 20 seasons. Remarkable consistency that will never be equaled.
