Stallions that stand for a private fee??

What is up with this? Last year Kingmambo stood for 300k and now he is standing for a private fee, does this mean they are jacking people in private or don't want to announce what they are charging because they are lowering the price or only being very selective with what mares they are choosing?

kingmambo has sucked as a sire, was booked to the best brought in alot of high priced babies that have failed to much of anything

Surely you are mistaking Kingmambo for another Stallion. Going into this year he had sired 5 champions and 34 graded stake winners from 10 crops.

Seattle you are a disgrace.

Its been my experience that once a stallion reaches a certain age or has had some physical ailments that could *possibly* hamper the number of mares he could breed, stud fees are often listed as private.

He had some issues last year in the shed and didnt cover his usual number. My guess is, he'll probably see mostly mares of shareholders and a few select outside mares.

Usually when a stallion starts going to a private fee it's because the horse is getting older and the books are reduced to a more quality over quantity. Kingmambo has had some physical problems and this is to help manage him better and longer.
