Default Braulio Baeza

If you ever go to a NYRA track, you should always seek out Braulio Baeza. He is a treasure of American racing. My father told me you could put a cup of tea on Braulio's back in the gate and drink it after the race.

I saw him ride in the late 1960's and 1970's and he was one of the best I ever saw. Maybe the best I ever saw.

He's a very nice guy. I've been lucky to chat with him at Louisiana Downs the last few years, since he is now the Clerk of Scales down there during the summer. He has the same role at Hialeah, which starts on Friday as well.
