VEGAS Question
I am going to Vegas in December. I am not much of a card player, but I do mess around with Roulette. My main thing is Horse and Sports betting so I will spend most of my time in the sportsbooks. My question:
What sportsbook has the best reward program and will comp me the best. I am not a HUGE player, probably $50-100 per game and $25-50 per race. I will be traveling there more frequently now and it would nice to get some comps eventually, thanks for your help! |

I am also going in March, for march madness, and got three free nights(prime nights also, thursday/friday/saturday)... You will get the most comps from Roulette and Blackjack, sports you get the least, horses is mid level comps |

I have stayed in three places(Ballys, Mirage, MGM Grand). Grand SUCKS ass, brutal beds, when I wanted to sleep I couldn't, I had springs in my side and in my grill. Mirage was a little better then that but the Ballys rooms were awesome. The only thing I want out there roomwise is a decent bed with a good pillow so when i want to go to sleep, I can, no wasteing time trying to fall asleep. I also like when they have a couch and a desk type area because I like to spread things out and get organized and you have to remember that we usually roll with a decent sized group so having areas to sit down is kinda important. They were the biggest rooms also and had everything I want.
I have been in the Bellagio rooms and they were obviously nice, you can't beat that place, but cost wise, it isn't worth it...Ballys is right across the street anyways if you really wanted to go to Bellagio |

Great info....I had heard that the Grands' beds sucked...from a cab driver no less...I stayed at the Aladdin in 2005....don't know if they're done with the remodel of that place?

Try here:
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin...ropertyID=1448 This is across the street (Flamingo) from the race/sportsbook entrance to Ballys. If you can't sleep in these beds see a doctor. It's a 3 minute walk to the book and a nice luxury hotel. |

Chromer
Hey Chromer, is that place cheaper because they don't have a casino in it? Just curious

Their rates are sometimes higher and sometimes lower than what you can get at Bally's. If anything, I've found them slightly higher most of the time I've stayed. They are a small boutique hotel and on occasion it can be difficult to find a room there (I couldn't get one for BC this year when I tried to book 2 weeks ago). But they are definetly in the "luxury" grade of rooms. Higher quality mattress, high count egyptian cotton linen's, etc. I mentioned them because you said you had a hard time in the beds at MGM This is the grounds of the old Maxim Hotel/Casino if you remember that far back. They tore that down and put this up. |

I was gonna say the same thing. They are into Racing, being the venue for the Horse Player World Series. Their rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff is friendly. It's big enough to hold just about any game you want and small enough not to feel like you're in Yankee Stadium and its easy to get around in and find the places you want to be. Decent restaurants and timely shuttles to the Strip, if thats your thing.

I was out there to visit a client and stayed at the Venetian. I spent most of my time at the race book and wasn't playing very serious at all. I was playing around about 75% of the time maybe playing $50 to $100 a race. The other 25% of the time I was playing more serious.
Anyway, they started coming around asking if they could do anything for me. They heard me talking to a friend about going to dinner and they came right over to comp me for dinner. They comped me for lunch pretty much everyday and always offered dinner, snacks, shows, etc. My table play got me a few comps as well. Overall, I was kind of surprised. Good luck. Eric |

Ela, I should check that out then because I am getting that at Ballys right now and the Venetian is alot nicer then Ballys, i was in the sportsbook at Ballys for like 12 hours straight started at Calder and ended at Los Al, it was a fun day, up and down, pushing the same amount you were talking about. Thanks for the heads up
