Smile He's a year old today

Many of you who were on the ESPN board will remember a post from December of last year when while attending a birthday party with my daughter at Chuckie Cheese (a place you will never catch me at again) somehow i wound up coming home with a puppy.Well that puppy has turned 1 year old and after taking him to the vet with the cat on Saturday he weighed in at 114 pounds, which is more than our 2 children, kitten, hamster and fish put together. To my amazement the vet said he's most probably not done.If he gets any bigger he'll be at Mountaineer park with Huber Villa-Gomez in the saddle.

Cajun he's a chocolate lab who loves to play and have company.I will say that with 2 young children we made the right choice in breeds.I never have any reservations of leaving the room and him being alone with the kids. He'll never do anything to hurt anybody.Just no matter how much i brush him he sheds like unreal.he's crated during the day and really feels safe in his home.He was an easy dog to train but we did have a little help.I'm fortunate that one of my clients is a distributor of Iams and Eukenuba.Last week he gave me some cans and dry food from a company called Merrick. The dog eats better than me.I'll try to post some pictures.

HAHA!!! I have a black lab. She only weighs about 85lbs, though...

She also eats Merrick and a dry dog food called canidae. The canned dog food is the bomb...

She sheds like a BITCH (literally.) It really irritates me...

Gator: do you any info on the dry food you mentioned? My daughter has a German Shepherd that is 135lbs and I'm worried about displaysia and arthritus! Thanks Timm

Yes, Timm... I do. I have fed Coal nothing but the best food since she was a pup, (Iams doesn't cut it for her) because she was dying when I got her. The website below will tell you a lot about Canidae, which I believe is the best dry dog food you can feed. In all honesty, it's a ridiculous obsession I have with nutrition for my animals (horses included.)

http://www.canidae.com/dogs/all_life_stages/dry.html

Coal will eat about 4 cups of dry food a day (separated into two feedings) with maybe a quarter can of Merrick on top. Here's the website for Merrick:

Are you sure adding the fish still puts the dog on top?
