Default It's good to be Craig Dollase right about now.......

It looks like Mick Ruis has taken his recently formed stable (valued between 5-10 Million) away from.........his daughter Shelbe.
Included in the Ruis stable is Grade 1 winning/BC Juvy Filly starter Union Strike.
The Mick Ruis stable burst on to the So. Cal scene not too long ago with nothing but high priced horseflesh, mostly in the 175-350k per horse range.
That's 19 very well thought of horses falling into CD's lap...........not too shabby for trainer Craig.
Christmas in October ?

WOW.. They bought some nice ones at the sale this year. I'm surprised he chose one of the worst trainers in Cali to make his sole trainer.

Might not effect Dollase, but Ruis does own 1 of the spots in Frank's race

It looks like this one might be on the daughter Shelbe.
A couple of horses she was training for Audrey & Vincent Marchionno (Spud Spivens & Woodstock Memory) have been transferred to the low profile/low percentage Denise Breuer barn.........Spud ran today and Woodstock is in on Sunday.
Shelbe Ruis has said she wants to open up a public stable, yet her "public" owners have taken their horses away from her.........just like her father did.

My goodness, old Mick certainly isn't hurting for scratch.
He's had a couple of horses with solid company lines in Europe running on the lawn in So Cal lately(Lady Beware in the Surfer Girl last Monday was one of them).
I can't remember if the horses went through an auction or were private purchases, but I think the horses were well bred and looked like "something".
Wasn't Mick Ruis an assistant trainer (maybe for Dollase ?) a few years back ?

Is this the same Mick Ruis who was on fire as an apprentice at Del Mar about 12 years ago?
