In case anyone has the energy to care, Churchill won the English 2000 Guineas yesterday.

Reading about the winner of the English race is better than reading than Always Dreaming is going to beat Arrogate.

Daddys Lil Darling Tabbed for Last in the Epsom Oaks

Quote:
Following her second-place finish in Friday's Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks behind Abel Tasman, Daddys Lil Darling is being aimed at the June 2 Investec Oaks at Epsom Downs. Trainer Kenny McPeek told racingpost.com that the 3-year-old daughter of Scat Daddy, a half-sister to Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Mongolian Saturday, would train on the grass gallops of his Kentucky farm prior to shipping overseas.
In other sport news, the brother of infamous Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson is in training for the Los Angeles Marathon by jogging in place for 96 hour stretches every week until raceday. Meanwhile, Tommy Bonaducci, of East 213rd Street in the Bronx, who once got an autograph from Seattle Seahawks great Brian Bosworth, is planning an assault on the Big Show after buying an annual pass to the batting cages at Randall Island Golf and Entertainment Complex in Manhattan.

Quote:
“They haven't had a Kentucky Oaks filly, so I guess William Hill and all those boys are going to have to work out how to set her odds,” McPeek joked.
The listing for the odds of Daddys Lil Darling winning the 2017 Epsom Oaks can be found right between the odds for Elvis returning back to Earth with his Martian Bride in the year 2023 and the odds for Sasquatch winning the 2054 Indy 500 aboard the Loch Ness Monster.

Quote:
“The goal for an American-based filly is the Kentucky Oaks and that's what we did. We made her a dirt horse. You can't even find a Grade 1 for a grass filly in the US.
As Martin Panza sheds a tear after reading this quote, Chad Brown, Bill Mott, James Toner, Graham Motion, Mark Casse, Michael Matz, and Cristophe Clement all wipe the sweat from their respective brows in collective relief at the fact that they will not have to deal with the awesome turf form (6th in the Florida Oaks) of Daddys Lil Darling in the Belmont Oaks, Garden City, Del Mar Oaks, Queen Elizabeth, etc. etc.

Quote:
"As long as everything goes right and the client gives me the thumbs-up, I'm coming.”
Winless since last September and everything is going right?

I'm not sure if the owner has a thumb for you in either direction...but he probably has a finger for you..

Quote:
The trainer also indicated that he would not be bringing an American jockey for Daddys Lil Darling, and that he is in the market for a top local rider.
That's funny, cuz I heard a rumor that several top local riders are in the market for a hopeless American-based mount.

Tremendous work ( even though the Garden City became the Belmont Oaks....the old Garden City spot in now the Sands Point, a $500K Grade 2. She would get crushed in that too ).
