Who wants to see Bernardini LOSE?
Okay, I admit it, I want to see him lose. Maybe its because so many people are so sure he will win. Maybe because i think they will retire him after he wins. Maybe its because i now view the sheikhs as some sort of "evil empire". Maybe its because i want to go price hunting in the classic.
Regardless, i am going on record as hoping he will lose and also that i will be betting against him. Anyone else on this bus? |

i will go on record as saying i don't think he's the sure thing many say he will be this saturday. it's a contentious field, as it should be. no lightly raced horses here, seasoned veterans all--well, almost all. bernardini is one of the most lightly raced horses running this wknd. hell, some of the juvies have more races under their belts than he does. shame he won't make double digits before heading to stud. one season. makes GZ look like a true veteran in hindsight.

I'm going against him. Probably use him in exotics and pick 3s, etc. But I'll try to beat him from a win standpoint.

at last!!!! the thread i have been waiting for!!!!
i can say that no matter how i do at the windows.....this will be a great breeders' cup if that horse does not win. if he finishes off the board, it will be my favorite breeders cup ever. then i hope he comes out of it 100% healthy for 2 reasons. 1) i never want to see any horse (even him) injured. 2) i don't want him to have any excuses.

As for the "evil empire" thing, it wasnt anything against the shiekhs or anything like that. It just seems that they have a monopoly on some really good horses. I root against Pletcher the same way. And im not trying to be different. Im just not on the bandwagon. Bernardini is obviously a talented horse but i think and hope he loses. Simple as that. |

I am all about Lava Man, not against Dini. Tom A seems like a great guy, gotta love Dini's heart, etc..

If George doesnt win, I hope Bernardini wins it.. Though I just backed Invasor at 10-1 so i wouldnt be disappointed if he won it..

i'd like to see lava man win it. be nice to see horses who run more than a few times in their career get rewarded for their longevity....good thing that some owners believe 'what's best for the horse (oh please)' is different than others! |

Damn straight I hope he loses if it means he will run again. Maybe he gets an absolutely horrid trip, stumbled start, caught in traffic, bumped, etc... and comes out in perfect shape, seething to go again. They cant contain him because all involved with the horse know he wants to run again. He refuses to breed unless they let him run for another year or two. Good stuff. |
