Default Belmont Friday June 8th

Race 1:
#2 Go Around: If he runs back to his old form he's an overlay here. Three back was on the poly, two back he was beaten before encountering trouble but may not have liked the surface or something might have been amiss given he was off a long time after that. Had to have needed the run last time.
#6 Ticonderoga
#5 Aquaphobia
#8 Almanaar

Race 2:
#5 Stonefactor: What a puzzling ride that was when last trying the turf. Broke on top from the 12 post, could have cleared but instead snagged back to sit 4 wide without cover. Great performance all things considered. Showed that day she can rate and nothing wrong with her return run.
#9 Irishtocat: Got a great inside run on turf debut, until she got stuck behind the longshots who capitulated on the lead. Lost first run but she didn't give up. Gets another chance this time and 6f should suit better.
#7 Lulu's Pom Pom: Grinder has experience.
#4 is bred for the turf so no surprise to see her run well on that surface, albeit with the pace in her favour. #10 has a sneaky turf pedigree, although Sciacca is 32 0-0-1 with 3yos in turf sprints at BEL in the last 5 years. I'll use both underneath.

Race 3:
SCRs took out my top three picks...
#2 American Gal: Took advantage of a soft opening split in the mud at Churchill. Gives weight now and is vulnerable.
#6 Lewis Bay
#8 Highway Star

Race 4:
#5 Dowse's Beach: Wasn't going to go dueling Black Tide around the track off the layoff, but the mile isn't his game anyways. Ran against tougher two back and didn't handle the soft going at Woodbine. 6-1 ML on his prior form is an overlay.
#9 Expected Ruler: Been a long time since he's found the winner's circle, but he's run well since the barn change. His races in this class last year weren't bad, and he'll get a lot of pace to run at.
#3 Sandy'z Slew
#4 Blessed Halo

Race 5:
#2 Somebeyay: Might not have beaten much, but that was some debut. Banged around from both sides on multiple occasions at the start, and for a 2yo debutant that's enough to make them stop running. He never stopped, annihilated them on the turn, and kept going.
#7 Mae Never No: Filly was working on the grass, suggesting she was good enough for Ward to have been considering Ascot with her.
#6 Sir Truebadour: Could take them all the way here.
#4 Outshine: Worked well last week, but that was in the slop, as was his win. Needs to prove it on a fast track.

Race 6:
#5 Orbed: Didn't seem to take the kickback well two-back and the winner of his last ran well on Thursday.
#7 Lunar Phase
#11 Encinitas
#8 Fallstar

Race 7:
#12 Have At It
#9 Morrison
#8 Raging Bull
#6 Almithaar

Race 8:
#3 Imperial Hint: Think Castellano used him too hard early last time and can't see him making the same mistake this time around. Rated nicely to win last year, and 9/2 ML is an overlay.
#8 Whitmore: Got stuck behind a wall in the slop at Churchill, and fast ground is what he prefers. Will be running on late.
#4 Bobby Abu Dhabi
#7 Always Sunshine

Race 9:
#5 Sistercharlie: Demonstrated a brilliant turn of foot last time. Twice second in G1s at this trip.
#7 Esquisse: Kept decent company in France and should relish the trip, as the dam was a dual Group winner at 12f and a sib was multiple stakes-placed at 10f. Worth a shot with the light weight.
#6 Daddys Lil Darling
#2 Holy Helena

Race 10:
#4 Funny Kid: Progressive type beat solid Group horses last out.
#1 Call To Mind: Lost to a G1 winner in his last and gets 6lbs from my top pick.
#8 Postulation
#10 Rocketry

Race 11:
#5 Into the Breach: Ran well first off an extended layoff after nose-diving at the start. Two other turf starts good enough here.
#9 Prompt: Has sibs that were graded stakes quality at this distance. Ran better without the shades last time out.
#2 Mathematician: Got a good trip last time but lost first run as he got lost for room on the turn.
