Default More on Haggard

I didn't realize it, but Haggard denies that he had sex with the man and denies that he ever took drugs. He admits that he once bought drugs from the man, but denies using them. He claims that he was tempted to use the drugs but decided against it. He claims that the escort was recommended to him by the hotel as a massage therapist and he claims that he used to get massages from the guy. It sounds pretty far-fetched but that's his story.

I obviously don't believe Haggard's story, but I just wanted to point out that he denies the charges. Not only that, but the male escort took a polygraph and failed it. So it's a he says, she(the gay excort) says type of deal and the gay escort already failed a polygraph. Haggard has lied too. At first, he denied even knowing the guy, so Haggard doesn't have much credibility.

Haggard and his "friend" should go partners in a deli.
They both know how to throw the balogna.

Danzig,
This story is far beyond Haggart. At its core are those that have twisted the words of Jesus to fit their politcal agenda.

i agree about the twisting of words....but that's happened for centuries. heck, even popes centuries ago assured their pious followers that altho murder is wrong, killing infidels is perfectly ok.
my daughter was going to an awanas group with some friends. some african american children started attending, and other adults started pulling their kids out because of it. my daughter was furious, and said that was pure hypocrisy, that they preach love thy neighbor, and then show hatred. she's no dummy.

of course that my contention is that spending a night in your garage no more makes you a car than spending time in church will suddenly make you a christian. plenty who talk the talk, but who is willing to walk the walk???

a guy told my husband he was looking for a church to join. he thought he found one, they enjoyed going, the sermons were in line with his and his families line of thought. so he sought out a member to ask about joining. 'oh, we're full. you're welcome to visit, but we have no more room for members'. ooops, i left out the part about him being a minority....

i avoid organized religion. while preaching love and lack of judgement, they often do the opposite. religions continue to teach intolerance, and it's wrong. the last thing jesus taught was intolerance!
i teach my kids to treat others with dignity and respect, do unto others, because it's the right thing to do. walk a mile in their shoes and all that.

Danzig,
Thank you so much!
Give your daughter a hug. You raised her right. That she sees though the hipocracy at an early age is to your credit.
I agree with your post completely.
The only thing I might add is that there is a very big difference between "religion" and "spirituality", just as there is between the United States and those that govern it.
Thank you for your post.

Haggard wrote his own last chapter.
As I've previously stated, "the truth will out."

Seems to me that you must now confront your own lies, Rupert.

Yeah right. I need to confront my lies but you don't need to confront yours.

Let's start with your accusation that I'm a Muslim sympathizer...
I'm still waiting for your apology.
Please cite any and all "untruths" that I've stated.
You are a big phoney. Own it!

I never said that you were a Muslim sypathizer and I never meant to imply it. All I was trying to imply was that I thought you posted the article because it showed hypocrisy on the part of a Christian. That was my opinion. If my opinion was incorrect, then I apologize. It won't be the first or last time that I will be wrong about something.

Rupert,
Are these in fact the words you typed?

"It was directed at DTS and I never said that DTS would defend someone just beacuse they are a Muslim. I said that DTS probably wouldn't have been interetsed in the story and probably would not have posted the story if it was about a Muslim. That is what I said."

Let me be very clear. I am opposed to ALL hypocricy. This includes Haggart's, George W Bush's, and yes...even yours.

If you are stating that you are in fact wrong, then I will accept your apology.
Spare me the insults in the future.
