ROI Results 7/14 @ Indiana Grand
Indiana was Grand for two players and Grand Grand Grand for this weeks winner. 3 tickets were
cashed and 3 players collected the points involved. Real Quiet sneaks into 3rd with an exacta in the 1st with a fortuitous late scratch in that race. Plenilune who looks like she had a Grand Ole Day at Indiana with a win bet in race 5 on Pioneer Spirit which returned her $150 and a $50 profit on the day. The day however belonged to Roamin who at Indiana Grand collected more than a Grand and outdistanced the field. For the first time in our contest year a player broke the $1000 profit mark. Roamin played a $75 win bet and a $25 place bet on Axelrod in the Indiana Derby and the prices were a whopping $26.80 and $9.80. Shades of Abel Tasmen. Roamin jumps way up in the yearly standings and becomes the 3rd player with a positive ROI in 2018. Congrats to both Roamin and Plenilune for thier ROI finishes and to both for leading the points contests in reverse order. Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. On an added venue note, Joly did run into "Trouble with a capital T" and there were no "76 Trombones" for NJ Stinks. Maybe next week wherever Plenilune ships us. WIN... Roamin... +$1027.50... Mega Roamin. Not sure why you like him so much but it certainly paid off!!! Congrats to the others who raked in some cyber coin as well! And since we'll have to wait a whole other year or two or more until we come back to Indian Grand, I'll take this opportunity to leave all of you with these parting thoughts . . . enjoy!!!

However you did it, well played. On a side note, some of you might enjoy the Del Mar online contest. Starts tomorrow, goes through the end of the Del Mar meet. Similar to this contest in that you get a mythical $100, but only for one race chosen by the powers that be at Del Mar. It usually is a turf race and I am guessing that they will start with the Oceanside which is a one mile turf handicap with 13 starters.

This year's format requires that you use your full $100 bankroll for WPS only, with a 25-1 odds cap. That should reward consistent day to day handicapping rather than just wild guessing. |

I'm not bummed at all. What was it they used to say on Wide World of Sports? They called it " the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat." I imagine most horseplayers have to get used to a lot of that agony stuff and little bit of the thrill, but we are a persistent lot and we fight on. I suspect that we all like the challenge. I'll probably hang with you guys a lot. I was usually playing at least one of the races you guys play anyway over on the Race of the Day thread.
