ROI Results 5/4 @ Churchill
It was the best of days. It was the worst of days. And more than a few of us are still in a daze.
Whether you agree or disagree with the DQ, it is what it is and that's all that it is. The 2019 Derby has a winner and so does our contest. Four players cashed a ticket and all four hit the board. Maximum Security's DQ affected at least one placing and Instagrand's clunker almost another. El Prado takes the 4th slot with a whopping place bet on Chase the Ghost. Another length and El would have been the winner. Cruzan takes the show spot with a win bet on Hungry Kitten in race 5 worth $320 and the Cruz Man would have taken the contest had Maximum Security stayed up. Ruffian takes the number two spot with a spot on win bet on Mia Mischief in the 6th worth $375. They say turnabout is fair play and this weeks winner turned the tables on point winner Ruffian. Ruff won the points on the last race and Cal nailed race 11 to seal the deal and win the day. All that late night handicapping by Cal came to fruitation as he hit the 11th race exacta and zoomed by Ruffian. Cal played Bricks and Mortar over Qurbaan and hit the $46 exacta 9 1/2 times. Nicely played Cal. Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. Like Churchill, the steward here does not believe in the Inquiry sign and like Churchill if there are objections no questions will be taken or answered. And it may take a while to correct the results as I examine the 96 screenshots taken of the wagering. See you all next week wherever Ruff ships us. WIN... Cal828... +$242.70... I am grateful for the win, but would have been just as happy had Cruzan won, because like a multitude of others, I too had Max over CH. Wasn't a huge ticket, but still lost a $500+ return, but that's ok because had some of them gone down with the possible loss of life or severe injury, what is my loss compared to that? It would have been tragic for the horses and riders and coming on the heels of things at Santa Anita possibly catastrophic for racing on it's biggest day. With 20 horses, I am not sure that the KD is not a tragedy waiting to happen, but maybe that is an over reaction as I think that the incident that I'm sure will live on forever involved maybe 6 or 7 of the 20.

I should be the Winner here since maximum Security won that race fair and square.

Hang in there Cruzan. Our three stewards are still looking at the replays and Don hasn't declared it official yet.

My little parakeet is smarter than those stewards but rules are rules and we have ours, like them or not, and following our rules I can't officially declare you the winner but unofficially I can. We have to go by what the tote board said even though it's a crock of BS.
