“Mr. Brent, when was the first time you saw Uncle Chuck?” “Well, some middle man horse trader said he had a horse by Uncle Mo I might be interested in standing so he gave me the name. I Googled it and there was a video of the Los Alamitos Derby from 2020 so I watched it and he brilliantly beat 3 other horses.” “When was this?” “The race?” “No, when did you watch the video?” “Yesterday, a few minutes before I wrote the stallion press release…” Quote:

…everything I look for in a $6,500 stallion prospect… Quote:
Hey, the “only reason” I don’t have a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract in the NBA is because I’m 5’5”… Quote:

By the way, what is implied when a stallion advert uses Equibase Speed Figures instead of some of the more popular ones? I came up with two possibilities: (1) his numbers from those sources are poor, or (2) there was a paywall when they tried to look up the numbers on their respective websites… Quote:
The 3rd place finisher was a maiden named Cosmo; he runs for $32k claimers as recently as last month. The ill-fated Great Power was running for less than $3k this year. Quote:

Was he up for champion sprinter based on that running line or something? Quote:
I got one for the Baffert stallion factory: B – Bullsh!t Talent A – Aggrandize Performances F – Fudge the Figures F – Forsake Reality E – Establish connection with actual good horses R – Receive commission T – Take it to the bank In case you missed it, E is highlighted in the above quote. Quote:
At any rate, how’s this for a final insult: A horse that made 3 whole career starts and never proved a thing will stand at a stud farm called “Journeyman”… |

![]() Thanks; I thought he had cracked a 100 BSF in the LA Derby but apparently not.
He did not look good down the lane in the Travers. This was Baffert's KY Derby horse ever so briefly after he fried 2 or 3 horses (Charlatan and the other horse that officially won his AR Derby division the same day he crossed the wire first) and doubts were raised about Authentic's stamina after he had lost the SA Derby. Wonder what could have been if he took it slow with Uncle Chuck a la Arrogate. Eh...it probably would have been the same result, just a different Grade 3 win and a different Grade 1 flop before a failed comeback at 4. |
