Have to imagine Repole/Viola team didn't name one after JJ Crupi that can't run. Meanwhile, the inside pair from Shug and Asmussen look like they're in slightly better position today than the firsters.. Best Value: #3 Perform 7-2 4th Next Best: #2 Disarm 5-2 WON ($5.70) Exotics Use: #1e Repole/Viola entry 2-1 3rd/7th Super Add: #6 Rocket Can 6-1 5th 7th: Glens Falls (G2), F&M-4+, 12f-Inner (P6, P3, DD) Virginia Joy absolutely on par with War Like Goddess and owns early jump tactical edge to boot.. Most Likely: #2 Virginia Joy 5-2 3rd Next Best: #6 War Like Goddess 1-2 WON ($2.80) Best Value: #1 Temple City Terror 12-1 2nd Exotics Use: #3 Petricor 6-1 7TH 8th: ALW/N1X, 3+, 7f *(P5, G/S, P3, DD) With all the hubbub over the Whitney, the confrontation of emergent Saint Tapit v. Money Supply and Osbourne (all 3yo's) has gone somewhat unnoticed. Saint Tapit (the Mandy Pope home bred o/o Havre de Grace) apparently scared off a number of potential entrants that were looking to prep for the Allen Jerkens here. Should be good.. Best Value: #9 Osbourne 6-1 3rd Next Best: #8 Saint Tapit 8-5 WON ($5.30) Exotics Use: #7 Money Supply 9-2 4th Super Add: #3 Scilly Cay 10-1 8th 9th: Test (G1), 3yo-F, 7f (P4, P3, DD) Matareya easily rates 3-5 lengths better than those signed on. Has proven she doesn't need a lead to be successful.. Most Likely: #1 Matareya 2-5 3rd Best Value: #7 Chi Town Lady 15-1 WON ($36.00) Next Best: #5 November Rein 10-1 6th Exotics Use: #2 Sterling Silver 15-1 4th P5 Grid: 5: 1-4 (A), 8 (B), 2-3 (C) 6: 1-2-3 (A), - (B), - (C) 7: 2-6 (A), - (B), - (C) 8: 7-8-9 (A), - (B), - (C) 9: 1 (A), - (B), - (C) Simple (A+B): 3x3x2x3x1 = $54 ($27 for .50) All A's: 2x3x2x3x1 = 36 x .50 = $18 Backup (C-A-A-A-A; 2-3 in 5th): 2x3x2x3x2 = 36 x .50 = $18 P4 Grid: 6: 1-2-3 (A), - (B), - (C) 7: 2-6 (A), - (B), - (C) 8: 7-8-9 (A), - (B), - (C) 9: 1 (A), - (B), - (C) All A's (Press): 3x2x3x1 = 9 x $5 = $45 10th: Whitney (G1), 4+, 9f (P3, DD) This should be very entertaining with a number of scenarios possible. Life Is Good could establish position early and wire; Blinkered Hot Rod Charlie could engage him early and go on or make them both vulnerable to the stalker/closers; Olympiad gets first run on the leader(s) and feels most likely before they spring the latch; Ground-saving Americanrevolution reprises his Albany romp from last summer getting the dream drip behind the front trio and runs by them all.. Most Likely: #4 Olympiad 2-1 4th Next Best: #6 Life Is Good 6-5 WON ($3.70) Exotics Use: #2 Hot Rod Charlie 9-2 3rd 11th: Saratoga Derby (G1), 3yo, 9.5f-T (Derby-Oaks 2-day DBL, DD) Excellent assembly with trips from Belmont Derby weighing heavily on players' approaches to this reshuffled deck. Classic Causeway should find the front end more crowded today with Main Event, Emmanuel and Royal Patronage all; interested in attending the pace. Favored Nations Pride, Annapolis and Stone Age feel very likely if trying to stay narrow. Yesterday, Wit ran 2nd in the HOF in his turf debut and don't be shocked if War Front dammed Ethereal Road (15-1) shows up similarly here.. Most Likely: #4 Nations Pride 7-2 WON ($) ~ 'Beat Byk' Selection; Qualify for 9/17 final HERE.. Next Best: #6 Annapolis 5-2 2nd Best Value: #11 Ethereal Road 15-1 9th Exotics Use: #10 Stone Age 9-2 5th SAR Derby/Oaks DBL: SAT 11: 4 (A), - (B), 6 (C) SUN 7: 3-4 (A), - (B), 1-2 (C) 4 w/ 3-4 = 2 x $20 = $40 4 w/ 1-2 = 2 X $5 = $10 6 w/ 3-4 = 2 x $10 = $20 6 w/ 1-2 = 2 x $5 = $10 12th: NY-MSW, 3+, 8.5f-Inner Has been an annoying dearth of my favorite Spa opportunities ~ 'NY breds long on the grass' ~ so far this meet (just 6 over the first 17 days), but this MDN set qualifies with favored Your Mission & Biondi nominally better than the next half dozen contenders. Chad debuts a Bob Edwards home bred in Walk Em Down (Nyquist), Linda Rice gives Curlin's Wisdom (Curlin) another chance on the lawn, while Mott offers Sir John (Laoban) as a first 3yo, first Lasix, first time gelding. As always in these hyper-competitive events, use as many as you can afford and trust your 'capping instincts if you suspect a bomber.. Best Value: #5 Sir John 12-1 6th Next Best: #7 Walk Em Down 6-1 8th Exotics Use: #4 Action Jackson 8-1 WON ($9.00) Super Add: #8 Dreampoint 8-1 5th P5 Grid: 8: 7-8-9 (A), - (B), - (C) 9: 1 (A), - (B), - (C) 10: 1-4 (A), 6 (B), - (C) 11: 4-6 (A), - (B), - (C) 12: 4-5-7 (A), 1-3-6-8-10 (B), 2-9 (C) Simple (A+B): 3x1x3x2x8 = 144 x .50 = $72 All A's: 3x1x2x2x3 = 36 x .50 = $18 Backup (A-A-A-A-C; 2-9 in 12th): 3x1x2x2x2 = 24 x .50 = $12 P4 Grid: 9: 1 (A), - (B), - (C) 10: 1-2-4-6 (A), - (B), - (C) 11: 4-6 (A), - (B), - (C) 12: 4-5-7 (A), 1-3-6-8-10 (B), 2-9 (C) Simple (A+B): 1x4x2x8 = $64 ($32 for .50) All A's: 1x4x2x3 = $24 ($12 for .50) Backup (A-A-A-C; 2-9 in 12th): 1x4x2x2 = 16 x .50 = $8 MONMOUTH ~ SPOT PLAY POST-SCRATCHES 9th (3:53p): Jersey Shore, 3yo, 6f (P3, DD) Best Value: #1 Witty 8-1 2nd Next Best: #8 Senbei 5-1 6th Exotics Use: #7 Lightening Larry 6-1 5th Good luck! Steve
