Venue thoughts for July 20

While I have never been bashful in my love for the Saratoga season, I think that the best racing card this Saturday will be on the Jersey shore at Monmouth Park.

In addition to the Grade 1 Haskell, there are 5 other stakes races on what will probably be a 14 race card. The Haskell post position draw will be at Noon on Wednesday, so I'll wait until after entries are out to announce the final venue and figure out which races might provide us with the most enjoyable contest.

Since you will be handicapping the Monmouth card, you might want to use your insights to enter a free online contest that Monmouth is offering. The Haskell Game requires that you pick one horse in each race. Your score is based on the payoff of a $2 WPS wager on each of your selections, and there are cash prizes to those with the top 3 bankrolls. Here's a link to the contest site:
