TAMPA/Race 4 Sat 12/9
T3B is gonna tread lightly for the first week or 2, just to get a feel for how the track is playing. Gonna take a look at the 4th, horse by horse, and then will post a seperate thread for the late pick 4.
Race 4 Md Sp Wt 18K 1 1/16 TURF #1 - MILL CREEK LADY - off for 10 months after last seen finishing 3rd at this level. Like the fact a very capable Montalvo keeps the faith. Lightly raced 4YO filly's two best races have come over this sod, but with only 1 "published" work showing and trainers relative stats are low %, I will be inclined to watch one.5th #2 - JACOB'S QUEEN - 3YO filly by King of King's intrigues me a great deal here, especially at 10-1 ML. Has yet to attempt anything further than 7 panels. I'm willling to draw a line through her last two MCL efforts on the dirt at CD. This gal should love the move back to her preferred surface and should relish the stretch out as well. Lesser name T/J combo should insure a good price. USING.6th #3 - BEAUTIFUL RING - Clearly needed her last after being off for 6 months. Lezcano sees fit to ride this daughter of Vicar making her truf debut today and with him up, she is surely to take her share of $$ at the windows. Underneath in exoctics.3rd #4 - RUBY DELIGHT - Seen this girl a few times....enough times to know that she doesn't have enough heart coming down the lane. Will also take her share of money, but I have to stand against her as her 2-3-4 finishes are more a result of passing tired horses as opposed to actually running down the lane. 7th #5 - YOUKNOWSHESRIGHT - Smart Strike gal has yet to put 3 races together. Last seen in Jersey on Oct. 4, then didn't work for 3+ weeks (10/27). Not seen again for another month after that work (11/26), but worked back 1 week later (12/3). Last 2 works were ok, but not jaw dropping by anymeans. A repeat of her Sept. 21 effort should get it done, but at 4-1 ML and sure to take her share of $$ as well, I am treading light as there seem to be some physical issues. Will take a look in the post parade.1st #6 - MENACING MACLAYNE - Hard to believe that our boy Huber Villa-Gomez would rather ride at sunny Tampa in the wintertime as opposed to Wild and Wonderful Mountaineer Mr. Greely gal seemed to appreciate the switch to the weeds in her last out down in Miami and closed very well on a turf course that seemed to favor speed for the most part. In a race without much pace, I am counting on a crafty ride from HVG in here and I expect him to have this gal a bit closer to the leaders and get first run on them. ON TOP.4th #7 - MOLLY'S EVENT - Im a fan of Lori Smock...have made some $$ on her horses in the past in the right spots....but this is not one of those spots. Nothing on this gals form gives me any indication of being a runner. PASS8th #8 - HONKEYTONKVILLE- 0 for 36 trainer....0 for 22 horse...never been closer than 7 3/4 lengths at the finish. PASSscratch #9 - SCAIFE ROAD - Kingmambo gal looks like one of the better runners in here. 2nd off a small layoff and 2nd for new trainer. Very capable Centeno takes the call here and she should make her presence known down the lane. USING.2nd #10 - BELLA VICTOR - Mid-Atlantic shipper makes the class jump to straight maidens after burning money in the MCL ranks. May flash some early speed from the outside and should be near the front for a while, but I don't see her being around in the end.DFL AE's #11 - IN SECONDS - Underneath in exotics is she draws in. #12 - MADAME APPEAL - Pass #13 - ULTRA PREVENTION - Lightly raced Forestry filly has potential to improve and will be tough if drawn in. #14 - RUN WITHTHE SPIRIT - LONGSHOT ALERT Crafty trainer strong off long layoffs. LDK baby shows steady string of works leading to this. Was shown alot of love at the windows in his prior 2 starts. This girl is dead fit and ready to run. ON TOP if she draws in.
